    摘要: There is disclosed a system and method for the automated testing of digital television receivers. The automated test system comprises a digital video signal unit capable of sending a digital video test pattern to a digital television receiver. The digital video signal unit is capable of receiving from the digital television receiver a reconstructed digital video signal representing the digital video test pattern as displayed by the digital receiver television receiver. The automated test system comprises a test processing unit that is capable of comparing the digital video test pattern with the reconstructed digital video signal to determine the video quality of operation of the digital television receiver. The system and method of the present invention compares the digital video test pattern and the reconstructed digital video signal by 1) comparing the amount of jitter, and 2) comparing the signal to noise ratio, and 3) computing percentage similarity between an image block of each of the two video signals.

    摘要: This invention relates to an apparatus and method for real-time testing of television picture colors. It can conduct real-time testing and adjusting of colors at various pixels to make tree and grass greener. The apparatus in accordance with the present invention includes a chromatic-coordinate testing circuit and a chromatic-coordinate bias circuit for each set color and configuring them between the television signal output and the video-driving amplifier. The pixel identified by the chromatic-coordinate testing circuit is the pixel to be adjusted. The chromatic-coordinate bias circuit controls and changes the bias current or bias voltage output to the video-driving amplifier in color television sets so that the connected three-color electron gun produces color bias effects on the monitor screen.

The color-bar signal generation unit in accordance with the present invention includes first, second, and third color-bar signal generators for generating a color-bar signal that represents a 16:9 aspect ratio color-bar test pattern, and a color-bar signal switch for switching outputs of the generators. The color-bar signal is structured to contain a 75% color-bar signal and 100% color-bar signals. The 75% color-bar signal represents a portion of the color-bar test pattern defined with an aspect ratio of 4:3 and serves as an NTSC color-bar signal. The 100% color-bar signals represent portions of the color-bar test pattern outside the portion with the aspect ratio of 4:3 and serve as components of an HD color-bar signal. Consequently, the color-bar signal can be used in common for the HD format stipulating the aspect ratio of 16:9 and the NTSC format stipulating the aspect ratio of 4:3.

    摘要: This invention aims to provide a method and apparatus for detecting a synchronization shift in which the synchronization shift between an original image and a reproduced image can be accurately detected even if noises are generated by a video codec or the like. An original image sent out from an image source 1 has a sine wave for synchronization overwritten thereon in a frame memory. The image on which the sine wave has been overwritten is decoded in a codec and stored in another frame memory. The two images srored. in two frame memories are simultaneously started to be read out. From the image from the other frame memory, only the sine wave is extracted in a notch filter, subjected to an offset correction in an adder, and inputted to asynchronization shift detecting unit. The synchronization shift detecting unit uses the sine wave to detect line, frame and horizontal pixel shifts. Since a sine wave is used as a synchronization marker and only the sine wave is extracted in the notch filter, the synchronization shift can be accurately detected.
