The system involves picking up video signals with a fixed head, reproducing the video signals with a demodulator, correcting time base variations of the reproduced video signals with a variable delay member, comparing the output signals of the variable delay member with reference signals in order to detect the time base variations caused in the reproduced video signals by the tape running irregularly and the time base variations caused by a change with time or the like in output signals of the variable delay member, feeding back the obtained time base variation signals to the variable delay member through a low-phase filter and a mixer thereby to control the delay member, comparing the phase of input signals to the variable delay member with the phase of the reference signals in order to correct high frequency components of the time base variations which are removed by the low-pass filter, and supplying the obtained time base variation signals to the variable delay member through a high-pass filter thereby to control the delay member.

    摘要: Method and apparatus for compensating for variations in the time base of a video signal reproduced in a longitudinal video tape recording system. The signal is passed through a charge-coupled device clocked by a variable rate clock signal to correct for the timing variations. Thereafter, a clamping circuit removes variable voltage offsets introduced by the charge-coupled device, to prevent objectionable horizontal streaking from occurring in the resulting video picture. A clipping circuit removes random noise from the time base pulses of the video signal prior to its passing through the charge-coupled device, whereby the clamping circuit is prevented from creating an objectionable flicker in the resulting video picture.

    摘要: Means are provided for detecting departures of the relative velocity between a signal pickup and the information track of a video disc from a predetermined value. Signals recovered when relative motion is established between the track of the disc and the signal pickup are subjected to a delay in a charge transfer delay line. The line delay is made to vary in response to the output of the detecting means so as to compensate for signal time base errors engendered through departures of said relative velocity from the predetermined value. Non-linearities of the time delay of the delay line with respect to the output of the detecting means, which are due to large changes in the output frequency of a voltage controlled oscillator utilized for controlling the operation of the delay line, are compensated for by means of a linearizing feedback loop for the oscillator.

    摘要: A video signal reproducing system including a still picture reproduction function is provided with correction circuitry for preventing the line jitter problem which often occurs in conventional units. A memory circuit is provided which has a capacity of at least one field, and receives a video input via a variable delay circuit. The output is derived, in alternate fields, from the memory circuit or a correction circuit. In one embodiment, the correction circuit may deliver a line interpolated signal derived by averaging the memory output signal and a 1-H delayed signal from the memory circuit.

    摘要: A method for time axis control for performing both coarse and fine time axis adjustment in accordance with relative speeds of a recording disk and a playback unit while the playback unit is recording or reproducing signals on or from the disk, wherein a color image is displayed during a scanning operation, which displayed image is natural in appearance. The pickup unit is first caused to follow a track formed on the recording medium in a tracking control operation. Repetitive track jumping operations are then effected over successive tracks by moving the pickup unit. For the track jumping operations, a time constant circuit within a circuit which performs the fine time axis adjustment is reset at least for the duration of each track jumping operation.
