The frame has a magnetic circuit housing unit, an outer peripheral portion having an annular shape arranged on the outer side thereof, and multiple arm parts connecting the magnetic circuit housing unit and outer peripheral portion. Plural flat surfaces to which a cushion is attached are formed on an upper surface of the outer peripheral portion and a lower surface thereof. Each of the flat surfaces on the upper surface of the outer peripheral portion and each of the flat surfaces on the lower surfaces are connected by a corresponding connecting part. The plural flat surfaces to which the cushion member is attached are formed between the outer peripheral wall of the outer peripheral portion and the inner peripheral wall thereof, rather than the outer side of the outer peripheral wall of the outer peripheral portion.

    摘要: Arrangement for fastening a phonographs stylus holder to its tone arm. The arrangement has a plurality of pins affixed to the tone arm, and sleeves inserted in openings in the stylus holder. The sleeves are slipped onto the pins and have a frictional engagement therewith. The lower ends of the sleeves are provided with flanges which underlie opposite edge portions of the stylus holder. In one embodiment of the arrangement the passages through the sleeves are concentric with the external cylindrical surfaces of the sleeves, and in another embodiment the passages through the sleeves are eccentric with respect to the outer cylindrical surfaces of the sleeves whereby turning of the sleeves permits an angular adjustment of the stylus holder with respect to the tone arm. Indicium means may be provided on the sleeve to indicate the angular position of the sleeves relative to the stylus holder.

    摘要: An electromechanical record disk dynamic range expander for use in a stereophonic system. The invention includes a pivotally mounted stylus-bearing shank. Received within the shank are iron inserts which are maintained opposite electromagnetic coils and extended pole pieces. A permanent magnet communicates with the iron inserts by means of a steel fulcrum, and communicates with the extended pole pieces by means of a steel canister receiving the assembly as a whole. The coils are maintained between respective pairs of extended pole pieces and iron inserts, and are wound in such a manner that the number of coil windings increases with distance from the coil centerline. A magnetic gap exists between the extended pole pieces and associated iron inserts, with the respective coils being received within such magnetic gap. Movement of the stylus in a record groove causes the magnetic gap of the associated channel to move, cutting the coil windings and inducing a signal corresponding to the stored tonal image. The coil winding technique results in amplified increases in coil signal strength for linearly increasing mechanical movement of the stylus, achieving dynamic range expansion.

    摘要: In a combined stylus and generator system, the combination with a stylus adapted to operate with a record groove and a generator moving in response to the movement of said stylus means for suspending the stylus and generator system for universal movement. The means for suspending the system includes a pivot member connected to a rigid support and seated in an elastomeric socket member proximate the end of the stylus lever. The pivot member is preloaded in the elastomeric socket member by a second elastomeric member coupled between the rear of the stylus lever and the support. Lateral motion of the generator system is damped by non-linear compressive forces in the preloaded elastomeric socket member, while forces on the stylus causing the generator system to swing about the pivot member are damped by opposing shear compliance forces in the elastomeric socket member which act to return the stylus to its neutral position.

    摘要: An unheated cutting stylus is positioned with respect to a metal master in order to cut a groove having a quiescent groove depth less than one micrometer while relative motion is established between the cutting stylus and the metal master. The cutting stylus is vibrated about the quiescent position thereof in response to a relatively high frequency signal while cutting the groove in order to cut an information track comprising short wavelength modulation (e.g., 0.6 to 1.6 micrometers) of groove depth in the bottom of the groove having a peak-to-peak dimension less than the quiescent groove depth. The cutting stylus vibration is effected by a piezoelectric element which is mounted directly between a pedestal and the cutting stylus by means of bonding materials. The pedestal, the piezoelectric element, and the cutting stylus are shaped to form a cutterhead structure having all external surfaces disposed in anti-parallel relationship to each other.

    摘要: An elastic bearing member provided with a circular cross-section aperture through the center thereof suspends a cylindrical stylus shoe within the circular aperture. A star-shaped tapered recess is formed within the surface of the bearing member to the side opposite that of the stylus tip and extends inwardly approximately one-half the thickness of the elastic bearing. A wire coupled at one end to a fixed support rearwardly of the elastic bearing has the other end fixed to the shoe periphery at the point where the upper star point base merges with the circular aperture receiving the shoe to limit axial shifting of the stylus.
