    摘要: A system and method are disclosed for cutting and increasing surface area of surface stubble material while contemporaneously cutting and aerating the soil. A discoidal coulter blade is configured with a plurality of circumferential teeth for cutting the surface stubble as well as reducing the downward pressure required for the blade to enter the type and depth of soil desired. The circular coulter blade is configured with a plurality of inserts oriented normal to the rotational movement of the blade as the blade cuts the soil. Each insert is shaped to aerate a specific type of soil anticipated by an operator. The inserts are positioned on the blade for desired impact with the soil and angled in placement on the blade to maintain the desired effect on the soil.

The sub-assembly includes a hub having a mounting portion, a ground engaging tool securable to the hub or integrally formed therewith, and a weight having a body with an open aperture having a mouth, the mouth configured for enabling the weight plate to be threaded over the elongate structure so that the elongate structure extends through the aperture, and the open aperture configured so that the weight plate is maneuverable over a portion of a length of the hub whilst in situ on the elongate structure and to be beatable on the mounting portion. The ground engaging tool is connectable to a respective one of the hubs of the tilling assembly whilst that hub is retained interconnected in situ on the tilling assembly, and without removing another ground engaging tool from the tilling assembly.

A plurality of waves is formed in a predetermined pattern in the outer peripheral edge of the disk body, and the outer peripheral edge is sharpened to form a plurality of teeth such that at least a portion of the sharpened outer peripheral edge is disposed within a second plane that is parallel to the first plane and substantially perpendicular to the rotation axis. The method also includes machining a plurality of relief portions in each of the plurality of waves at a location radially inward of the plurality of teeth, and heat treating the disk body after the sharpening and machining steps.
