摘要: A two-part bag seal and a method for sealing a vacuum bag to a mold for a molding process. The two-part bag seal includes an elongate first seal part having a cross-sectional portion enclosing an open channel therein, and an angled cross-sectional portion having an open receptacle channel therein, and an elongate second seal part having a flexible wing portion and a flexible prong distal from the flexible wing portion, wherein the flexible prong is engageable with the open receptacle channel of the elongate first seal part.

摘要: The present disclosure provides a thermally conductive article including a pad having first and second opposed major surfaces and a thickness therebetween. The thickness is formed of entangled thermally conductive fibers and at least a portion of the entangled thermally conductive fibers have at least one terminal end at the first opposed major surface, the opposed second major surface, or both. The pad is at least partially impregnated with a polymer. Another thermally conductive article is provided including a) a pad having first and second opposed major surfaces and a thickness therebetween; b) a first thermally conductive skin layer; and c) a second thermally conductive skin layer. The thickness of the pad is formed of aligned thermally conductive fibers, and at least a portion of the thermally conductive fibers have a terminal end at the first opposed major surface and the opposed second major surface. The first and second thermally conductive skin layers each include a polymeric matrix at least partially embedded in the terminal end of at least a portion of the thermally conductive fibers at the first and second major surfaces of the pad, respectively. Methods of making the thermally conductive articles are also provided.

摘要: A liquid acrylic resin used in reactive thermoplastic pultrusion that produces a nanocomposite/fiber-reinforced hybrid composite structure with relatively high tensile strength and high flexural strength compared to thermoplastic fiber-reinforced composites made using resin transfer molding processes. The resin is made of 70-90% methyl methacrylate, 10-30% polymeric viscosity-promoting agent, a 0.1-10% nano clay, a nitro compound retarder and an internal lubricant. The pultrusion process is carried out in a pultrusion machine that uses a relatively high percentage of fibers. The fibers are submerged in a resin bath and delivered to a curing die. Before manufacturing the resin, the inhibitor for the monomer is removed using an Alumina column and replaced with the nitro retarder. The nano clay is added to promote the reaction rate. Any resin and pultruded wastes produced during the manufacturing process can be processed and reused. Also disclosed is a method for manufacturing a composite made of the liquid acrylic resin and pultrusion dies systems.

The base surface and the lid surface form a portion of a tool cavity. The tool lid is movable relative to the tool base to generate an internal pressure within the tool cavity. The adjustable stop controls a tool position of the tool lid relative to the tool base to achieve a predetermined value for the internal pressure.

By shielding the sides of the composite laminate stacked material excess resin matrix material can be forced from the composite laminate stacked material to provide a uniform composite article with reduced weight and reduced thickness.

摘要: There is disclosed a method of manufacturing a composite component. A preform for the component is laid-up on a lay-up tool so that a first surface of the preform conforms to a lay-up profile of the tool. The preform is transferred to a forming tool comprising opposing first and second forming surfaces, each having a near net shape profile corresponding to a respective side of the component. The preform is formed in the forming tool to a near net shape of the component. The preform has a preform bulk in excess of the near net shape of the component prior to forming, and the lay-up profile is offset relative to the near net shape profile of the first forming surface to accommodate a proportion of the preform bulk. Accordingly, both the first surface and an opposing second surface of the preform displace during forming to conform to the respective near net shape profiles of the forming surfaces.

摘要: A method for molding a laminated body includes laminating a reinforced fiber base material on a molding surface of a molding jig to form a laminated body; attaching a pulling jig to a third lamination portion of the laminated body; forming a protrusive curvature part and a recessed curvature part in the laminated body by curving the laminated body along a protrusive curvature surface and a recessed curvature surface formed on the molding surface while pulling the end of the laminated body with the pulling jig; and densifying the laminated body by heating the curved laminated body while pressurizing the same. The reinforced fiber base material is laminated so that at least a part of a gap between layers of the reinforced fiber base material becomes a non-adhered state in a portion from the protrusive curvature part to the third lamination portion formed in the laminated body.

摘要: A single stage OPF-to-carbon preform shape forming method includes positioning an oxidized PAN fiber preform with a female forming tool, positioning a vacuum bag over the oxidized PAN fiber preform, and vacuum forming the oxidized PAN fiber preform into a shaped body. The vacuum formed shaped body (while still in the shape forming fixture) may be loaded into a carbonization furnace and carbonized. The vacuum bag may be burned away in the carbonization furnace during carbonization.
