    摘要: There is provided a method of installing spiral hangers about a messenger line installed between first and second utility poles with a cable being lashed to the messenger line with a lashing wire. The method includes attaching a first and second spiral hangers to the messenger line between first and second utility poles with the first spiral hanger disposed about the messenger line and the cable. The method includes removing the lashing wire from being around the messenger line and the cable adjacent the second spiral hanger. The method includes moving the second spiral hanger towards the second utility pole. The method includes attaching a successive spiral hanger to the messenger line between the spiral hangers and repeating the moving of the second spiral hanger and attaching another successive spiral hanger.

    摘要: A system for preventing a vehicle from turning sideways comprises a unit for measuring the weight of a cargo on the vehicle, a unit for measuring the height of gravitational center of the cargo on the vehicle, a unit for measuring the steering angle of the vehicle, and a unit for measuring the running speed of the vehicle. The static stability of the vehicle is derived from the weight and the height of gravitational center of the vehicle and the measured weight and height of gravitational center of the cargo. The dynamic instability of the vehicle during turning is derived from the measured steering angle and running speed. First and second allowable limits are determined according to the static stability. When the dynamic instability exceeds the first allowable limit, the clutch of the vehicle is disengaged, and when the instability exceeds the second limit, the vehicle is braked. Upon the dynamic instability exceeding each allowable limit, information to that effect is given.

    摘要: The fuel assembly locking apparatus comprises a rotatable plate capable of simultaneously and positively engaging all four legs of the bottom nozzle of a fuel assembly for uniformly holding the fuel assembly while the spent fuel rods are pulled from the fuel assembly. The rotatable plate has four notched corners arranged to be rotated over a ledge on each leg of the bottom nozzle of the fuel assembly thereby preventing movement of the fuel assembly. The rotatable plate is also capable of being rotated 45.degree. so that the four corners of the plate are rotated clear of the legs of the bottom nozzle of the fuel assembly thereby allowing the fuel assembly to be placed on or removed from the locking apparatus. The locking apparatus is also provided with a torque actuator for remotely rotating the plate.

    摘要: A hoisting mechanism for a spreader of a straddle carrier is disclosed herein. The hoisting mechanism includes two fluid rams respectively located at diagonal corners of a generally inverted U-shaped frame. One fluid ram is connected to one end of the spreader through three parallel flexible members with the intermediate flexible member connected to one corner of the spreader and the two outer flexible members are connected to the opposite corner of the spreader. The disclosure also shows a unique steering linkage for steering all eight wheels that support the straddle carrier.

    摘要: A portable gantry crane formed of composite members includes a composite material I-beam. Two or more support members are formed of a composite material and each support member supports the I-beam when the portable gantry crane is in an upright position. Two or more end housings are included, each end housing enclosing a top end of one of the two or more support members and coupled thereto using adhesive. A plurality of latch structures are coupled with the I-beam, each latch structure including a latch, and each end housing having a latch receiver, each latch in combination with a latch receiver allowing one of the latch structures to be releasably fixedly coupled with an end housing. In implementations a plurality of latch structures are coupled with the I-beam, each latch structure having a latch structure enclosure and each latch structure enclosure at least partially enclosing one of the end housings.

They include two stabilizer arms constrained to be symmetric with respect to a vertical middle plane and equipped with feet for resting on the ground. Each stabilizer arm includes a first, straight segment bound with one first end to the chassis and one second segment hinged to the second end of the first segment. The first and second segments are aimed at being mutually positioned in a retracted position (R) in which the encumbrance of said stabilizer arm remains within the operating machine maximum size limits, and an extended, in-operation position (L), in which the related resting foot is in contact with the ground. The axes of both first segments of said pair are included in the same plane, that is perpendicular to the middle plane.

First and second engines are respectively supported on the legs and each engine drives a plurality of pumps which supply pressurized fluid for driving and steering the vehicle, as well as pumps for supplying fluid to a plurality of other functions. The hydraulic circuit for performing the plurality of other functions as well as the steering function is designed so that all of the functions may be operated from the pumps driven by one of the engines in case of power failure in the other engine.
