摘要: A redox curing dental composition comprising: a. one or more compounds having a radical polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond; b. a redox initiator system comprising a reducing agent which is a compound of the following formula (I): wherein R1 and R2 which may be the same or different, independently represent a C1-18 hydrocarbyl group, or R1 and R2 form together with the silicon atom to which they are bonded a 3 to 8-membered silicon-containing alicyclic ring, which groups R1 and/or R2 may be substituted with one to three substituents selected from the group consisting of a C1-6 alkoxy group, a halogen atom, or a carboxylic acid group; and (ii) an oxidizing agent adapted to oxidize the reducing agent of formula (I) in the absence of light for generating a radical capable of initiating radical polymerization of the one or more compounds having a radical polymerizable carbon-carbon double bond.

摘要: Metal ion sequestering particles were formed in a one-pot single step synthesis by azeotropically removing water while heating a reaction mixture containing a branched poly(ethylenimine), poly(acrylic acid), di-(2-picolylamine), a catalytic amount of N,N-duimethylformamide, toluene, and either glycine or a carboxy-terminated poly(N-isopropylacrylamide). No other catalyst was present. The branched and crosslinked particles formed using the poly(N-isopropylacrylamide) sequestered metal ion from water at ambient temperature and released the bound metal ion upon heating.

Livingness can be imparted to radical polymerization of a hydroxyl group-containing vinyl ether by performing the radical polymerization in the presence of a particular RAFT agent and a radical polymerization initiator, and a block copolymer with another radically polymerizable vinyl monomer can be obtained by using the resulting living polymer as a macro chain transfer agent capable of performing reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer polymerization.

摘要: Disclosed herein are embodiments of methods for making and using functionalized forms of polydicyclopentadiene polymers. The disclosed polymers and methods enable a greater range of uses than the unmodified polydicyclopentadiene, which is currently used industrially. In addition, the presence of the functional groups contemplated by the disclosed compounds and formulae allow for the control of the polymer surface energy, and also enables the use of reversible chemical crosslinks, which permits recycling of the material.
