    摘要: Example apparatus and methods for rigging a torque tube assembly in an aircraft are described herein. An example torque tube assembly includes a torque tube and a spline coupling coupled to an end of the torque tube. The spline coupling has an opening to receive a spline gear on a drive shaft of an aircraft high lift device. The torque tube assembly also includes a retainer coupled to the spline coupling. The retainer blocks at least a portion of the opening in the spline coupling to prevent the spline coupling from being moved off of the spline gear on the drive shaft.

The universal coupling also aims to increase the angle between input and output shafts over conventional double Cardan joints while maintaining constant velocity or near constant velocity therebetween. The universal coupling can employ a Sarrus type linkage in-between two universal joints of the Cardan type in a configuration that aims to achieve joint angles up to and including 90 degrees in the Y-Z plane, while maintaining constant velocity or near constant velocity therebetween.

The base portion has a thick wall portion that couples the bearing holes of the diagonally arranged flange portions and that has an X shape when viewed in a direction along an axis of the shaft portion, which is the other one of the shaft portions of each spider and trimmed portions between adjacent thick portions of the X-shaped thick wall portion.

    摘要: Universal joint (100) includes a centering mechanism (100A) for supporting the universal and forcing the two joint halves to operate at the same angle thereby causing the joint to operate at constant velocity at all angles. Each shaft (134, 135) of the joint (100) is rotatably connected to the centering mechanism (100A). Movement of one of the shafts (134, 135) at an angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the coupling yoke (136) is transmitted to the other shaft (135, 134) by the centering mechanism (100A) and the centering mechanism (100A) causes the other shaft (135, 134) to likewise move at the same angle relative to the longitudinal axis of the coupling yoke (136). The centering mechanism (100A) includes cam rods (102, 103) supported within a cam tube (101), which arrangement allows a full range of movement of the shafts (134, 135) at angles of 90°.

    摘要: A variable geometry linkage configuration for use between a support structure and suspended body comprises a link member having first and second ends, a first pivotal interconnection for pivotally interconnecting the first end of the link member with a support plate for rotation about a support pivot axis of rotation. A lever member is provided which has a longitudinal axis and first and second ends. A second pivotal interconnection for pivotally interconnecting the first end of the lever member with an impact plate for rotation about a main pivot axis of rotation. A shock pivot is mounted to the lever member and is adapted to connect an end of a shock absorber to the lever member for rotation about a shock pivot axis of rotation. A third pivotal interconnection is provided for pivotally interconnecting the lever member to the link member for rotation about a lever pivot axis of rotation. An improved variable geometry linkage is provided in which at least one of the pivotal interconnections comprises a universal pivot joint for articulation of the link member with respect to the support plate and/or the lever member about mutually perpendicular axes to accommodate pitch and roll between the impact plate and the support plate.
