    摘要: A pneumatic suspension system for a vehicle is provided comprising a mounting arrangement for mounting a portion of the vehicle on a chassis; the mounting arrangement including at least one pneumatic spring to be arranged and coupled between the portion of the vehicle and the vehicle chassis. A vehicle state control system is provided that provides a pressure set value in the pneumatic spring and a pressure controller is arranged to a valve device alternatively for pressurizing or depressurizing the each pneumatic spring. The valve device comprises at least a first valve having a valve outlet coupled to the spring terminal and a valve inlet communicatively coupled to the pressure terminal. A support structure (102) distinct from the sealing edge (104) is provided arranged to providing supporting contact to the sealing face to counteract deformations of the sealing face.

    摘要: A suspension system, typically for use between a cab and an associated truck frame, including a s strut module having a strut, an air spring and a control module. The control module is connected to a source of pressurized air, is integral with the strut and includes a height sensor for sensing a distance between the cab and truck frame. The integral control module selectively pressurizes the air spring in response to changes in that distance. Preferably, the strut is a magnetorheological, McPherson-type strut and the air spring encloses at least a portion of the strut to provide a compact assembly. The strut damping characteristics are varied by the control module to provide optimal ride characteristics. The strut module includes a three-point connection to the cab and frame to resist relative lateral movement between the cab and frame.

The vehicle body suspension system is constructed in a manner to allow relative movement to occur between the suspended body structure and the chassis in such a manner to at least partially isolate the suspended body structure from the vibrations and accelerations of the chassis. The vehicle body suspension system includes one or more spring/damper components that comprise an elastomer body that is surrounded and, therefore, reinforced by a reinforcing wall constructed of a relatively rigid material. The vehicle body suspension system may utilize one or more of the reinforced elastomer block spring/damper components as bump stops and/or primary spring/damper components.

    摘要: A cab suspension for a vehicle having a chassis supporting a cab with the cab being supported on the chassis at a forward location and at a rearward location so as to permit vertical movement of the rearward end of the cab relative to the chassis. Conventional forward support structures connect the forward end of the cab to the chassis. A rearward support structure or suspension unit connects the cab to the chassis at the rearward end of the cab to provide relative vertical movement therebetween. The structure comprises an elongated metal tube having its longitudinal axis disposed transversely with respect to the longitudinal axis of the chassis with the tube being secured to the chassis. The tube has an elongated, resilient rubber or elastomeric cartridge positioned therein which has an elongated torsion bar extending therethrough which is in engagement therewith so that the cartridge restricts rotational movement of the torsion bar with respect to the tube. Lever arms are fixedly secured to the ends of the torsion bar and extend forwardly therefrom for adjustable connection to a bracket which is secured to the lower rearward end of the vehicle cab.

    摘要: Rubber shock absorber systems for use between the frame and equalizer bar of a construction vehicle usually fail to withstand high temperature environments. A metallic spring assembly is provided which is capable of high flexibility and durability. The spring assembly includes a first arcuate spring member and a second arcuate spring member adjacent to and inverted from the first spring member. First and second arcuate plate members are positioned against the first and second spring members respectively, and have a larger bend radius so that a clearance is created therebetween. A bolt with a plate nut threaded thereon is provided to connect the spring assembly and to provide a preload. During compressive loading, opposing end portions of the first and second spring portions are deformed to provide an energy absorbing system. The flexibility and durability of the spring assembly is controlled by the bend radius, thickness, and length of the plate members.
