摘要:
A shell steam boiler 2 comprises a furnace tube 10 having an entrance 32 which contains a gas burner 68 and also receives the hot exhaust gases from a small gas turbine 34 giving an output, on a power take off shaft 58 from a power turbine 56, of 0.5 MW or less which drives an electrical power generator 60. Hot heating gases from the gas turbine 34 and the burner 68 pass down the furnace tube 10 and then through a first group of pass tubes 16 and then through a second group of pass tubes 22 to an enclosure 26 comprising a flue 30. A driven fan 72 in the enclosure 26 acts to draw the heating gases through the boiler and promotes a good flow of those gases.

A heating boiler comprises an outer housing with a cylindrical wall in the housing extending from one end thereof and defining therewithin a primary fire chamber. A cylindrical fire space wall portion is radially spaced outwardly of the cylindrical fire wall and extends along the length of the fire wall and has a secondary portion which extends axially beyond the length of the cylindrical wall and has a greater diameter than the cylindrical wall and defines therein a secondary fire chamber which communicates with the primary fire chamber. The housing also contains a wall spaced radially inwardly of its interior which defines a chamber water space between the wall and the fire space wall and also a hot water tank between the wall and the interior of the housing. A plurality of smoke tubes are arranged at spaced locations around the fire space wall and they extend through the chamber water space and permit passage of gases from the end of the secondary fire space remote from the primary space through the chamber water space and to a waste gas pipe leading out of the boiler. Tubular thin wall lining is located between the cylindrical wall defining the primary fire chamber and the fire space wall portion spaced radially outwardly thereof leaving a clearance between the cylindrical wall defining the primary fire chamber and the fire space wall which is bridged by the lining under certain operating temperature conditions.

In the boiler plant the flue gases coming from the firing space undergo division into at least two part-currents which are cooled to different degrees by giving up heat to a heat exchange medium and are then mixed together partly for producing a gas current with a desired temperature dependent on the rates of mixing of the two part-currents. The mixed current is then taken up by a heat user. Parts of the flue gases not going to the heat user are run through all heat absorbers of the system as far as the off-gas stack. The amounts of the part-currents of flue gases, used for forming the gas current with the desired temperature of mixing, are controlled dependent on the mixing temperature.

An economizer system for preheating feed or return water in a high pressure steam or hot water smoke-tube boiler having a smoke-heated convection-effecting portion. The smoke tubes at the end of the smoke tube convection-effecting portion are surrounded by a jacket with staggered baffle plates penetrated by the smoke tubes so as to form a wavy or serpentine flow channel for the feed or return water in forced counterflow to the flue gas. The jacket may be encircled by a second jacket forming a chamber which may be filled with insulating material or form a preheater in the water supply system to the flow channel of the economizer.

A boiler comprises a water-carrying housing of sheet steel and a thin-walled cast iron casing arranged within the housing and having regions connected by condensate which are not machined. The casing includes a plurality of radial webs cast on the casing and supporting a sleeve defining a combustion chamber for the combustion of fuel. A guide chamber and a collecting chamber are defined by the casing adjacent opposite ends of the sleeve, the guide chamber being arranged to receive the combustion gases from the combustion chamber and the webs defining therebetween flow ducts connecting the guide and collecting chambers for conducting the combustion gases to the collecting chamber. The casing extends beyond the two end walls of the housing and the end walls form a liquid-tight connection with the casing. The webs extend into the guide and collecting chambers, the height of the web portions in the guide and collecting chambers not exceeding that of the web portions supporting the sleeve.

An energy generation system, especially applicable to firetube boilers but also applicable to other combustion-type energy generators, for burning dust-type fuels such as wood sander-dust. The system comprises fuel metering apparatus, responsive to system demands, for accurately controlling the fuel-air ratio and modulating the mass flow rate of the dust-type fuel into the combustion chamber. Dust fuel, normally of variable density, is fed from a large storage hopper into a metering bin sized to hold only a small volumn of the fuel. A rotary agitator within the bin equalizes the density of the dust fuel and divides it into equal volumetric portions which are passed in succession over an opening in the bottom of the bin. The size of the opening is variably modulated by a reciprocating metering gate whose position is determined by a controller responsive to system energy demands. Small predetermined quantities of the fuel, dependent upon the size of the opening, drop through the opening periodically and are transformed into a continuous homogeneous stream of dust fuel by a screw conveyor located below the opening. The conveyor feeds the stream of dust into a blower which transports the dust suspended in an air stream to a dust fuel burner. In the embodiment of the invention adaptable to firetube boilers, the burner comprises a modified boiler diffuser having one or more dust inlet tubes and a continuous supporting pilot to insure continuity of burning. The boiler embodiment also includes a boiler extension section having a trap for retaining any large particles of the fuel within the boiler to insure their complete combustion.

A combustion vessel structure for the combustion of fluid, i.e., gaseous, liquid or fine-granular fuel, preferably for steam generators, has its supply lines for fuel and for a partial amount of the combustion air located on one axial end side of a substantially cylindrical combustion chamber so that during operation a whirling or tornado flow is maintained in the combustion chamber. A gas outlet for the waste air is located at the opposite end side of the combustion chamber so that the combusted air is discharged under utilization of forces occurring in the tornado flow. An inner wall of wavy configuration extends axially through the combustion chamber. Further nozzles for the supply of additional combustion air enter tangentially into the troughs of the waves. The nozzle outlets for the additional air are disposed near the bottoms of the waves and terminate at most at the height of the wave crests.
