摘要: Shooting scopes displaying virtual shooting targets are envisaged. When a virtual shooting target is visualized and shot using the shooting scope attached to a firearm, a pre-programmed computer-based processing element cooperating with the shooting scope determines a theoretical gunshot trajectory based on the position and orientation of the firearm. The processing element correlates the theoretical gunshot trajectory with the information indicative of the positioning of the virtual shooting target and thereby determines the accuracy with which the virtual gunshot was fired. The processing element also determines the shooter's consistency based on the proximity between the points of impact for a predetermined number of shots fired by the shooter and the center of the virtual shooting target. Based on the shooter's accuracy and consistency, the complexity associated with the virtual shooting targets are varied, and such virtual shooting targets having varying complexities are presented to the shooter for target shooting practice.

摘要: A system and method for determining a discharge event of a firearm is provided. An event detection module receives acceleration and rotation input signals from an inertial measurement unit configured on the firearm. Respective acceleration and rotation input signals are assigned to sample event candidates at respective windows of time. The acceleration signals of the sampled event candidates are compared to a discharge acceleration template that represents a confirmed weapon discharge event. A subset of accepted accelerations from the sampled event candidates are identified that satisfy the discharge acceleration template. A first rotation input signal from the sample window of time associated with each accepted acceleration in the subset is compared to a first rotation template that represents a confirmed weapon discharge event. A determination is made whether the sample event candidate is a discharge event based on satisfying both the discharge acceleration template and the first rotation template.

摘要: Target engagement training apparatus, devices, systems and methods that can include wearable training devices on eye glasses and the like as well as mountable to weapons, such as rifles, and pistols, that identifies targets for users to shoot at whether randomly or in a prescribed manner, varies the speed that target identifiers are provided, and varies the duration the target identifier is shown. The target engagement training device dictates to the user which target to engage. The targets can include but are not limited to: 2D (two dimensional) planar materials with various graphics, such as sheets of paper, wood, or metal with printed, painted, or projected images or video displayed; 3-dimensional simulated human or animal figures; or simulated or actual vehicles, buildings, or other structures or items intended for target engagement training. One or more targets can exist on a single item of the aforementioned target materials. Target engagement training, can be used in the firing of real or simulated firearms with live fire projectile ammunition, simulated ammunition, BB shot, pellets, and the like, or engaging in the same with no ammunition in dry fire practice or the engagement of targets by other means, weapons, or munitions.

摘要: A method to detect, identify and determine the position of laser points from infrared laser emitters in a firearm training simulation system. The method consists of two steps. This first step combines some common tools such as a camera with a filter switcher and edge and corner detecting algorithms in image processing to provide a fast automatic screen calibrating method. The second step is to detect laser point objects in each frame continuously captured by the camera, and then further process these objects to identify laser shots, filter out noisy objects, and eventually detect simulated shots from different laser emitters and determine the final mapped position of the shot.

摘要: Systems and methods for tracking entities and objects in an environment can include an entity-mounted instrumentation (EMI) and an object-mounted instrumentation (OMI). The OMI can include a first IMU array to detect the object orientation, and a TOF pulse transmitter to transmit a TOF pulse. The EMI can include a second IMU array to detect the entity orientation, a GPS receiver, and an array of TOF sensors to receive various versions of the TOF pulse. The EMI can determine a location and orientation of the entity using GPS data and orientation data generated by the second IMU array. The EMI can determine a relative location of the object using the various versions of the TOF pulse, and can determine a location of the object using the relative location of the object and the location of the entity. The EMI can determine the object orientation using data provided by the first IMU array.
