摘要: A measuring arm is made up of a pair of main links pivotally connected together at one end, and a pair of shorter end links each pivotally connected at one end to an other end of each main link. A distance sensor is able to be attached to an end of one of the end links, and to either of a pair of support bases mounted at different locations on a relatively fixed structure. The measuring arm is particularly useful in inspecting contoured surfaces of seals installed on an automobile to aid in detecting defective seals.

摘要: A method includes disposing an intervention service tool within a tubular. The intervention service tool includes an anchoring system, a shifting system, and a linear actuator system. The tubular includes a shifting profile geometry disposed within the tubular at a first location. The anchoring system, the shifting system, and/or the linear actuator system is actuated. Shifter system pressure, linear actuator system force/pressure, and displacement of the shifting system is measured. A known graph of the shifting profile geometry is compared to one or more of a measured pressure, a measured force, or a measured displacement. A position of a key disposed on the shifting system is determined relative to the shifting profile. The shifting profile geometry is engaged with the key based on the position of the key. The shifting profile geometry is positioned at a second location that is different from the first location.

Simultaneously with the first working step, the toothing or the profile is measured by at least one sensor, wherein a geometric variable defining the toothing or the profile or a variable linked to the geometry is measured, and wherein the deviation of the measured geometric variable or of the variable linked to the geometry is determined from a target value in the machine control.

The object may have a measured surface comprising a surface deviation relative to a corresponding surface of the model. The method may comprise obtaining measured surface data representing at least a portion of the measured surface comprising the said surface deviation. The method may comprise determining a measurement surface corresponding to the measured surface of the object by performing a statistical analysis of at least a portion of the measured surface data in respect of an interpretation direction such that a portion of the measured surface data is offset from the measurement surface in the interpretation direction. The method may comprise making a measurement relating to the object depending on the measurement surface.

摘要: A probe assembly for measuring a synthetic turf infill profile having a probe, a turf surface contact assembly and a sensor. The probe is configured to extend down through the turf infill profile until a tip of the probe contacts a lower boundary of the turf infill profile. The surface contact assembly is vertically movable relative to the probe while the probe is being moved downwardly into the turf infill profile, wherein the surface contact assembly has a contact area with the turf surface that is large enough to retain the surface contact assembly resting atop an upper boundary of the turf infill profile when the lowermost tip of the at least one probe has contacted the lower boundary of the turf infill profile. The sensor reads the distance between the upper and lower boundaries of the turf infill profile at a sampled location in the turf surface.

摘要: A tool for detecting a covered edge of a structural member through sealant material of a fillet seal includes an edge detection probe mounted to a fixture. The probe outputs an interrogation signal toward the covered edge and receives a return signal indicative of a location of the covered edge. The tool includes an electronic control unit (“ECU”) in communication with the edge detection probe and a display screen. The ECU is configured to generate, from the return signal, one or more XY coordinates indicative of the edge location, and to display the edge location on the display screen. Additionally, the tool includes a seal measurement device. In response to the edge location, the device measures a predetermined dimension of the fillet seal, including a thickness and/or a shape of the fillet seal. A method includes detecting the covered edge using the tool.
