    摘要: A method of remediating a media asset comprising a magnetic tape includes preliminarily cleaning the media asset, treating the media asset, and finally cleaning the media asset. Treating the media asset includes baking the media asset, determining whether adjacent layers of the tape are stuck to each other, and re-baking the media asset. If adjacent layers of the tape are stuck to each other, the method includes submerging the magnetic tape in a cleaning bath for a predetermined period of time, unwinding the magnetic tape from a supply reel to a take-up reel at an unwind speed while drying the magnetic tape, and rewinding the magnetic tape onto the supply reel at a rewind speed before re-baking the media asset.

    摘要: A stabilizing bath that provides image stability and uniform drainage of excess fluid to prevent drying spots and that reduces or eliminates the formation of residue on the base side of color negative films is comprised of hexamethylenetetramine, a nonionic polyethoxylated surfactant, and an anionic sulfate or sulfonate surfactant. The stabilizing bath is used as the final processing bath prior to drying. The nonionic surfactant provides uniform drainage of excess fluid and the anionic sulfate or sulfonate surfactant functions to reduce or eliminate the formation of residue on the base side of color negative films.

    摘要: The self-aligning characteristics of surface-active molecules are used to provide a multiply-coupled thin film surface coating on a substrate, comprising an outermost layer of normally fluid, flexible backbone chain polymer units of at least about 30 atoms in length, the ends of which are attached by chemical bonds to a relatively highly polar second layer of atoms serving to anchor the relatively fluid outer surface layer polymer chains to the surface of the substrate.
