    摘要: An exemplary system and method for providing a multi-layer klystron-type electron beam device for the generation and amplification of millimeter-wave electromagnetic radiation is disclosed as comprising inter alia: a cathode layer (130); a collector layer (100); an extraction layer (120); a control layer (140); an input cavity (150); an output cavity (170); several ceramic spacer layers (103, 105, 107) dispose intermediately between the cathode (130) and the collector (100); and optionally, several magnetic ceramic layers (160, 165) for beam forming and focusing. After the klystron's layers are assembled, the device may be fired to form a substantially monolithic structure.

    摘要: A body of dense plasma is established within a short drift tube of a klysn amplifier between input and output resonator cavities thereof to support current modulation of microwave energy by interaction with an electron beam propagated through the drift tube. The plasma is confined to a column radially spaced from the electron beam for two-stream interaction enabling enhancement of current modulation under simultaneous high-power and high frequency operation.

    摘要: A klystron amplifier in which the drift tube is in the form of a casing and a central member disposed coaxially about the same centerline to form a coaxial space between the central member and the casing which runs parallel to the centerline, and through which the klystron's electron beam flows. The casing and central member are maintained at ground potential, which maintains the space charge of the electron beam at a low level, permitting the klystron to operate more efficiently and output higher power.
