    摘要: The invention provides a transmitter comprising two (or more) phase locked loops controlling respective oscillators, and implementing different phase modulation. Multiple phases are derived from the respective oscillators, and an edge rotator forms an output signal from a combination of the phases. The oscillators can operate at different frequencies, neither of which is an integer multiple of the other, whereas the output signals of the multiplexers of the first and second phase locked loops are closer in frequency and can be the same. This reduces the problem of pulling, with a circuit that can be implemented with low power and area and with the versatility of being digitally intensive.

    摘要: A system for multiplexing multiple information channels adjacent to the video spectrum on a TV microwave or cable unit by frequency modulating a high frequency subcarrier at wide deviation with one or composite information signals, translating the modulated subcarrier to a frequency adjacent to and above the video spectrum, and then bridging it into the video circuit at a level 20 dB or more below the peak video signal of the video spectrum. The system recovers the transmitted subcarrier from the video spectrum, synthesizes the subcarrier frequencies exclusive of most of the video interference in a limited bandwidth, and then detects the modulation of the synthesized subcarrier frequency.

    摘要: In a four phase PSK modulation/demodulation communications link phase ambiguity is resolved. At the transmitter a separate unique word modulates each of the phase quadrature components of the carrier frequency. At the receive end of the link, if the recovered carrier is locked onto the 0* phase of the received signal the two unique words will appear correctly in respective quadrature channels. However, if the recovered coherent carrier locks onto the wrong phase of the received carrier any combination of the following errors will occur: the unique words will appear in the wrong channels, the unique word in the first channel will be inverted, the unique word in the second channel will be inverted. Also the data will be garbled. The unique words, or their complements, are detected in the quadrature channels, and the channel outputs are altered, e.g., inverted or reversed, to result in the correct unique word appearing correctly at the outputs of the quadrature channels. The correction of the unique word results in an ungarbling of the data bits at the receiver.

    摘要: A test system that includes a generator and an analyzer acting cooperatively to test a device having a plurality of device communication channels. The device has a plurality of inputs and corresponding outputs, each input being connected to a corresponding one of the outputs. The correspondence between the input and output channels may change if the device is turned off and on or if the device is not actively sending data from the inputs to the outputs. The test system determines a mapping between the device inputs and outputs prior to performing bit error rate testing utilizing a mapping test pattern. The test system can then switch to a bit error rate test pattern without causing the device to drift such that the correspondence between the input and output channels is lost.

    摘要: In a diversity transmission system the problem arises that almost no improvement can be obtained when the signals to be received show frequency selective fading within the band width of the signal to be transmitted. To solve this problem the signal to be received is separated by filter banks into a number of sub-band signals. Corresponding sub-band signals of different filter banks are combined by the combiners into combined sub-band signals. These combined sub-band signals are combined to a broad band signal by a final combiner.
