Abstract:
A grinding machine for grinding an end of a spring, the machine comprising a fixed spring mounting, which is fixable in a known position in the machine, for a spring or springs and a grinding surface secured to a support structure and arranged with the support structure to relatively oscillate to and fro along an oscillation path or cycle across one end of the mounting.
Abstract:
A deglazing tool for use on motorcycle and ATV disc brake rotors. The tool is handheld and has abrasive pads that engage the rotor braking surface. The abrasive pads cut through the glaze on the braking surface of the rotor. Grip pressure on the handles maintains pad engagement with the rotor to assist the deglazing action. Compression springs below the deglazing heads or between the handles may be utilized to control the pressure between the rotor and pad. The surface glaze is removed and the surface is "roughened-up" and restored to the desired surface finish to improve overall braking performance and feel. The tool can be used with the rotor and brake caliper in place.
Abstract:
A method for precision two-sided machining of flat articles consisting in the following: a workpiece which is based at least on three points is introduced into a machining area between oppositely situated cutting elements of diamond tools (1) and (2) in such a way that all plane surfaces of the piece can be machined. Diamond drums are used as diamond tools. The generatrixes of the diamond drums are longer than the maximum length of the workpiece measured along said generatrixes. Axes (7) of rotation of the drums are oriented parallel to each other in such a way that they lie on the same plane as the contact lines between the cutting parts of the drums and the working surfaces of the workpiece. When the workpiece is introduced into the machining area, the drums perform a relative displacement such that a projection of the workpiece on the plane which is perpendicular to the axes (7) of rotation of the drums performs a forward motion across the axes of rotation. Said axes (7) are allowed to intersect the axis (8) of rotation of the workpiece during a complete machining cycle. The base positioning of the workpiece is carried out along the contact line between one of the surfaces being machined with the cutting element of the corresponding diamond drum and with aid of at least one base device which is situated outside the cutting area.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for machining plane surfaces of a disk brake (1) for motor vehicles. According to the invention, a wheel bearing unit consisting of a wheel hub (2), a roller arrangement (3) and an external bearing ring (4) is fixed on a workpiece support (6) with the vehicle side mounting surface (5) of the bearing ring (4) and the wheel hub (2) of the wheel bearing unit is driven in rotation. A flange surface (1) which is provided on the wheel hub (2) for a brake disk or the braking surfaces of a disk brake which is mounted on the flange surface is/are machined.
