A coating is provided that attenuates ionizing radiation. The coating may include a binder and a component that attenuates ionizing radiation. The ionizing radiation attenuating component of the coating may comprise a radio-opaque material. The radio-opaque material may be non-toxic and/or non-hazardous.
Abstract:
Dilators, such as rapid exchange dilators, configured for percutaneous access are disclosed. The dilator may be configured to be disposable within, or couplable with, a catheter. In some embodiments, the dilator, or the coupled dilator and the catheter, may be configured such that a sheath is not required for percutaneous access. In other embodiments, the dilator may comprise a plug such that a guide wire may be directed from a distal end of the dilator through a port, such as a rapid exchange port, in a sidewall of the dilator. The plug may also be configured to permit passage of fluid through a lumen of the dilator while inhibiting passage of the guide wire through a length of the dilator.

The embodiments disclosed herein relate to balloon catheter assemblies. The balloon catheter assemblies can include a hub, an elongated member, and an inflation balloon. The balloon catheter assemblies can also include a support wire having a proximal end that is longitudinally displaceable within a sleeve that is disposed in the catheter hub. A distal end of the support wire may be coupled to the inflation balloon at one or more positions.

Various medical procedures benefit from the creation of multiple access sites in a single anatomical vessel. For example, in some cardiac procedures, a plurality of catheters may be introduced into a single blood vessel through a corresponding plurality of access sites. The present application discloses devices for creating multiple access sites in a vessel and methods of using the same.

Fibrous materials and methods of manufacturing fibrous materials are disclosed. In particular, this application discloses methods of making and processing serially deposited fibrous structures, such as serially deposited fibrous mats. Serially deposited fibrous mats may be used in implantable medical devices with various characteristics and features. Serially deposited fibrous mats of various mat thickness, fiber size, porosity, pore size, and fiber density are disclosed. Additionally, serially deposited fibrous mats having various amounts of fiber structures (such as intersections, branches, and bundles) per unit area are also disclosed.

An embolic filter balloon is disclosed. The embolic filter balloon may comprise an inflatable balloon portion. Further, the inflatable balloon portion may be coupled to a filter member. The embolic filter balloon may be disposed in a body lumen. In some embodiments, the embolic filter balloon may be configured such that when the inflatable balloon portion is at least partially inflated the filter member extends at least partially across the body lumen. Such a configuration may allow the embolic filter balloon, when deployed, to filter particles greater than a predetermined size from a fluid in the body lumen.
