Abstract: A lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine, which has excellent frictional properties and abrasion resistance and comprises a lube base oil and (a) 0.075 to 2 % by weight of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of molybdenum dithiocarbamate and molybdenum dithiophosphate, (b) 0.05 to 1.5 % by weight of a fatty acid ester and/or 0.05 to 0.5 % by weight of an organic amide compound, and (c) 0.1 to 3 % by weight of at least one organotin compound selected from the group consisting of zinc dithiophosphate and zinc dithiocarbamate: and another lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine, which has more improved frictional properties and abrasion resistance and comprises a lube base oil and the above components (a), (b), and (c) and additional additives, i.e., (d) 0.1 to 10 % by weight of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of calcium sulfonate, magnesium sulfonate, calcium phenate, magnesium phenate, calcium salicylate, and magnesium salicylate, and (e) 0.5 to 15 % by weight of at least one compound selected from the group consisting of benzylamine, boron derivatives of benzylamine, polyalkenylsuccinimide, and boron derivatives of polyalkenylsuccinimide. This composition is suitable particularly as a lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine having a low fuel consumption by virtue of the low frictional properties.

Abstract: Stable emulsions with excellent separating action in the removal of concrete shuttering can be made from separators for hydraulic binders which contain unsaturated fatty, Guerbet or oxo alcohols with 6 to 10 C atoms as the oil components. The effect can be significantly improved by the addition of 0.5 to 5 wt %. emulsifiers.

Abstract: A corrosion inhibiting lubricating composition comprises: (a) a synthetic ester base stock; (b) at least one aromatic amine antioxidant; (c) a neutral organic phosphate of the formula (R O)3 PO where R is a tolyl, phenyl, xylyl, alkyl or cycloalkyl group, the alkyl or cycloalkyl group having up to 10 carbon atoms; (d) a saturated or unsaturated dicarboxylic acid of formula (I) wherein x+y+z is an integer in the range from 2 to 22 inclusive and where at least one of the groups R1 to R5 is a carboxylic acid group; or a dicarboxylic acid of one of the three formulae (II, III, IV); (e) a straight or branched chain saturated or unsaturated monocarboxylic acid which is optionally sulphurised or an ester of such an acid; and (f) a triazole of formula (V) or a triazole selected from 1,2,4 triazole, 1,2,3 triazole, 5-anilo-1,2,3,4-thiatriazole, 3-amino-1,2,4 triazole, 1-H-benzotriazole-1-yl-methylisocyanide, methylene-bis-benzotriazole and naphthotriazole.

Abstract: As a lubricant for cold-working of metal there is provided on the surface of the metal to be subjected to working a solid film of a saturated aliphatic monohydric alcohol having 14 to 18 carbon atoms. After the metal has been worked, the solid lubricant may be removed by heating without causing staining of the metal surface. The solid lubricant film may additionally contain from 1 to 10 % by weight of a polybutene, petroleum jelly or butyl stearate to modify the properties of the lubricant film.
