摘要： The present invention provides compositions that are useful for compatibilizing a conventional, non-polar, compression refrigeration lubricant and a hydrofluorocarbon and/or hydrochlorofluorocarbon refrigerant in a compression refrigeration apparatus. Additionally, these compositions promote efficient return of lubricant from the non-compressor zones to the compressor zones of the aforesaid refrigeration apparatus.

摘要： A lubricant composition is disclosed that comprises: (a) a lubricant and (b) at least one molybdenum-containing compound in the form of surface-capped nanosized particles of the general formula: (Z)n(X-R)m wherein Z is an inorganic moiety comprising molybdenum and sulfur in the form of particles having dimensions in the range of from about 1 to about 100 nm; (X-R) is a surface-capping reagent wherein R is a C4 to C20 straight or branched-chain alkyl or alkylated cycloalkyl radical or radicals and X is a functional group capable of specific sorption and/or chemical interaction with molybdenum/sulfur moiety; n is the number of molecules of Z in the particles; m is an integer representing the amount of surface-capping reagents relative to a single particle; and the ratio of m to n is in the range of from about 1:1 to about 10:1.

摘要： This invention relates to mineral oil based gear oils and transmission fluids which comprise a major amount of a mineral oil having an iodine number of less than 9 and where at least 55 % of the saturates are aliphatic, and gear oil or transmission fluid additives. In one embodiment, the invention relates to a gear oil or transmission fluid composition comprising a major amount of lubricant basestock and at least one functional additive wherein a major amount of the lubricant basestock comprises a mineral oil having an iodine number of less than 9 and comprising at least 45 % by weight of aliphatic saturates. These gear oils and transmission fluids have good viscosity and oxidation properties.

摘要： This invention relates to a lubricating composition comprising a blend of a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity, gear or transmission oil package and a top treatment which comprises at least one saturated fatty phosphate ester or salt, wherein the lubricating composition is free of saturated fatty phosphites. In another embodiment, the invention relates to a lubricating composition comprising a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity, at least one saturated fatty phosphate ester or salt, at least one polysulfide and at least one phosphorus antiwear or extreme pressure agent, wherein the lubricating composition is free of saturated fatty phosphites. The invention relates to additive combinations which when added to a lubricant can provide and improve frictional and, optionally, thermal stability properties. The additives include a phosphate ester or salt wherein the hydrocarbyl group of the phosphate is a fatty-saturated group. The top treatment may also include a substituted fatty imidazoline or reaction product of a fatty carboxylic acid and polyalkylene polyamine and/or a borated dispersant.

摘要： This invention relates to novel water soluble metal working fluid compositions, their use to work metal, a process for working metal using such compositions and the metal worked article of manufacture. More particularly, this invention relates to fluid compositions useful in cutting, grinding, shaping and other metal working operations which require a lubricant. The terms "first Group A" and "second Group B" are used herein to denote different groups and not to indicate any sequence of use or selection as any possible combination or sequence of use of a component(s) is envisioned without limit of any kind. The disclosed fluid compositions are also anticorrosive and environmentally more acceptable than current oil based fluids. There has now been discovered an essentially odorless, substantially non-oil misting, water-soluble metal working fluid comprising at least one component selected from a first Group A herein and optionally one or more components selected from a second Group B herein preferably with the balance of the composition being water and other (optional) minor ingredients. When a component is employed from Group A and a component is employed from Group B the action of the combination generally enhances performance of the resulting combination with contain moieties from both Group A and Group B.

摘要： A synthetic lubricant composition is a blend of a polyol ester blend admixed with effective amounts of an antioxidant, yellow metal pacifier and rust inhibitors. The polyol ester blend includes a major proportion of poly(neopentyl polyol) ester blend formed by reacting poly(pentaerythritol) partial esters with at least one C7 to C12 carboxylic acid mixed with an ester formed by reacting a polyol having at least two hydroxyl groups and at least one C8-C10 carboxylic acid. Preferably, the acids are linear and avoid those which can cause odors during use. Effective additives include secondary arylamine antioxidants, triozole derivative yellow metal pacifier and an amino acid derivative and substituted primary and secondary amine and/or diamine rust inhibitor.

摘要： A lubricating composition for lubricating a continuously variable transmission, the lubricating composition comprising a mixture of a major amount of a lubricating oil and an effective amount of a performance enhancing additive combination comprising: (a) at least one organic phosphite; (b) at least one amine salt of an organic phosphate; and (c) one or more friction modifiers selected from the group consisting of selected (1) amides, (2) succinimides, and (3) ethoxylated amines.
