Abstract:
The application relates to a method for producing panels, prefabricated products and frames for the furnishing industry, characterised in that it comprises forming shaped products made of sintered expanded polystyrene (EPS, expanded polystyrene) with high density comprised between 30 (thirty) and 60 (sixty) kg/m 3 in an expanded mould and vapour sintering granules or incoherent beads obtained from the polymerisation of styrene and ensuing obtainment of a monolithic mass with solid geometry obtained from the mould and embedding in the mould at least one reinforcement element constituted by a steel grid before the moulding of the sintered expanded polystyrene for attaining composite products with reinforcement armour means as well as to a panel produced by said method.
Abstract:
A hardened cellular material formed by stretching a stretchable material is disclosed. Fluid is allowed to enter softened stretchable material through apertures in a stretching surface to define voids at locations in the stretchable material at locations defined by the apertures. The stretchable material is then hardened with voids at locations controlled/defined by the apertures.
Abstract:
A durable partially water permeable article that can be used for transporting fluids such as water resulting from a co-continuous extruded structure.
Abstract:
Multiple processes for preparing porous articles are described. The porous articles can be in a wide array of shapes and configurations. The methods include providing a soluble material in particulate form and forming a packed region from the material. The methods also include contacting a flowable polymeric material with the packed region such that the polymeric material is disposed in voids in the packed region. The polymeric material is then at least partially solidified. The soluble material is then removed such as by solvent washing to thereby produce desired porous articles. Also described are systems for performing the various processes.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method for molding a foamed article, such as a midsole or outsole for footwear, in which a desired amount of thermoplastic polyurethane foam beads are placed in a compression mold in the shape of the article and the mold is brought to a peak temperature of from about 130° C. to about 180° C. over a period of from about 300 to about 1500 seconds, then cooled to from about 5° C. to about 80° C. over a period of from about 300 to about 1500 seconds within about 30 seconds after the peak temperature is reached. The foamed article made by the method has a density of from about 0.1 to about 0.45 g/cm3.

Abstract:
A method of manufacturing a prosthesis comprising a distal wall, a proximal wall, and a core, the method comprising applying a layer of silicone-based curable composition to a prosthesis mould; curing the layer of curable composition to form the distal wall defining a cavity; applying a mixture to the cavity, the mixture comprising a dispersed phase of dissolvable granular bodies suspended in a suspension medium comprising the curable composition; moulding the curable mixture so that it is adapted to fill the cavity curing the curable mixture to form the core, such that the surface of the curable mixture not in contact with the distal wall forms the proximal wall; and dissolving the granular bodies from the suspension medium to form a cellular structure.
