Abstract:
A method for providing a copy of a page from a printed document, the document including coded data indicative of an identity of the document and of a plurality of reference points on the document, the method including: receiving, in a computer system, indicating data from a sensing device operated by a user, the indicating data regarding the identity of the document and a position of the sensing device relative to the document, the sensing device, when placed in an operative position relative to the document, sensing the indicating data using at least some of the coded data; and identifying, in the computer system and from the indicating data, a request for a copy of the page of the document.
Abstract:
A mailing system includes a computer system having a sender terminal and a receiver terminal and adapted to transmit a mail item from the sender terminal to the receiver terminal. A printer device in the receiver terminal is adapted to print a mail item from the sender terminal in a document including coded data thereon, the coded data including an indication of the identity of the mail item and at least one reference point on the document. A sensing device is arranged to communicate to the computer system indicating data from the sensing device, the indicating data including information regarding the identity of the mail item and at least one action of the sensing device in relation to the document generated by the sensing device using at least some of the coded data, whereby the computer system can generate a second mail item using the indicating data from the sensing device.
Abstract:
A method of delivering a newspaper or magazine, including: formatting information of the newspaper or magazine in a computer system; the information including at least one user interactive element which enables a user to indicate a request for further information relating to the content of the newspaper or magazine by interacting with the element using a sensing device which is adapted to transmit data indicating the request to the computer system; and printing the information at a printer networked with the computer system so as to produce the newspaper or magazine.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are devices that change their appearance and / or physical properties when under an external influence, and methods for their production and use. Such devices may be used as features of any type of items, documents, billboards, posters, display devices, advertisements and other items etc. and may be adapted to include decipherable content. Such devices also afford new techniques for a user to check quickly and easily whether the item is a legitimate or a counterfeit copy, either by hand- manipulation of the device, or with the assistance of an additional screening tool.
Abstract:
Provided are photoluminescent markings that contain a photoluminescent layer (12) and one or more functional overlayers (14) (18) (22) wherein the photoluminescent marking has an emission signature that lies partly or fully in the infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum. One functional overlayer conceals the photoluminescent layer and blends into the background or blends with marks that are normally present, without significantly reducing the luminescent intensity of the photoluminescent layer. Another functional overlayer provides photolytic stability to the underlying photoluminescent layer. The invention also includes functional overlayers that enhance the daytime observability of the infrared emissions. A further functional overlayer prevents the observability of a printed message with the naked eye. A combination of functional overlayers each providing a different function is also included. As well, the present invention includes a multifunctional overlayer. The present invention also relates to methods of creating and using the inventive photoluminescent markings as well as objects containing the inventive photoluminescent markings.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Disclosed is an image puzzle-type keycode, and a system and a method for securing information. In the system and method for securing an image using the image puzzle-type keycode, an original image (10) including a photograph, a picture, a character, a number, a fingerprint, or an iris image is divided into image pieces and the divided image pieces are re- arranged so as to generate a keycode image (20), and the original image (10) is restored from the keycode image (20) as necessary. Therefore, the system and method can efficiently prevent information from being leaked using the keycode image (20), thereby performing the identity identification and authentication process while maintaining the security not to disclose personal information or personal physical information such as a fingerprint, the iris of eyes.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a perforation image verification apparatus and a method of reading a plate-shaped medium based on a perforation image. More specifically, the present invention relates to a perforation image verification apparatus for reading a random-number perforation image perforated on a plate-shaped medium and then restoring an original image using an image restoration application, and a method of reading a plate- shaped medium based on a perforation image wherein an encryption function is used to form a random-number dot image and an inverse function of the encryption function is used to restore an original image. To this end, the perforation image verification apparatus of the present invention comprises a reader unit for reading an encrypted random-number perforation image perforated on a plate-shaped medium, an image restoration application unit for restoring an original image by applying a decryption function to the random-number perforation image, and a display unit for displaying the image restored by the image restoration application unit. As a result, whether the plate-shaped medium has been forged can be determined by comparing an image before encryption with the restored image.
