Abstract:
A broadcast reception device is provided. The broadcast reception device includes a communication interface unit receiving, from a CAM, a first data unit including a request for diagnostic information for representing a status of the broadcast reception device; and a control unit generating a second data unit including a reply to the first data unit to transmit the second data unit to the CAM through the communication interface unit, wherein the second data unit includes information representing that the broadcast reception device does not implement displaying of a diagnostic information related screen.
Abstract:
A media server is disclosed, and comprises one or more non-transitory computer-readable memory devices upon which at least one set of instructions are stored, one or more processors, a request module, an authentication module, a filtering module, a publishing module, and a commercialization module. The request module is electronically coupled with the one or more non-transitory computer-readable memory devices for requesting data associated with media content from one or more remote electronic devices electronically coupled with the media server.
Abstract:
Improved techniques for video watermarking are described. In one embodiment, for example, an apparatus may comprise a processor circuit and a watermarking module for execution by the processor circuit to generate disabled video content through modification of a video content item, send a common stream comprising the disabled video content, and send a private content key for the disabled video content, the private content key defining a watermark for the video content item. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
Abstract:
A media content broadcast blackout control method, comprising receiving a retune message requesting a blackout of a primary media content broadcast in specific regions, generating a playlist for each region comprising a content key wrapped in a region-specific media key, wherein the content key in the playlists for regions that are not subject to the blackout is configured to access the primary media content broadcast, and the content key in the playlists for regions that are subject to the blackout is configured to access an alternate media content broadcast, providing the playlists to client devices within each region, providing the primary media content broadcast to client devices whose region-specific media key unwraps the content key for the primary media content broadcast, and providing the alternate media content broadcast to client devices whose region-specific media key unwraps the content key for the alternate primary media content broadcast.
Abstract:
Methods and systems are described for verifying that advertising content has been downloaded by a client. When a streaming client requests advertising content from an advertising server, the streaming client receives one or more verifiers from the advertising server. The streaming client sends information associated with the verifiers to a media server. The media server is configured to validate streaming of the advertising content to the streaming client based on the information associated with the verifiers.
Abstract:
A method, apparatus, article of manufacture, and a memory structure for a CPT stream to a client device via an HTTP live streaming (HLS) protocol having a plurality of HLS media files is disclosed. In one embodiment, the method comprises generating an HLS playlist specifying a plurality HLS media files before generating any of the HLS media files, wherein each of the plurality of HLS media files has a unique name, transmitting the HLS playlist to the client device, after generating the HLS playlist, transcoding the CPT stream into at least a subset of the plurality of HLS media files, and providing at least one of the subset of plurality of HLS media files to the client device, wherein the at least one of the plurality of HLS media files is a client-requested media file selected from the HLS playlist.
Abstract:
System and method for securing digital content comprising one or more display devices, each comprising a processing controller, a first memory, and a display screen, and configured to display digital content, an application, configured to run on a computer with a second memory and second processor, and configured to communicate via the internet with the processing controller of each display device, and a service cloud, comprising a server, a third memory, and a third processor, configured to store and manage digital content to be displayed on the display devices. The processing controller is configured to segment at least one digital content item into a plurality of segments, encrypt one or more of the segments, send a small portion of each of the encrypted segments to the third memory in the service cloud for storage, and store the remainder of the encrypted segments in the first memory.
Abstract:
A method and a system for enabling delivery of at least part of a digital rights management (DRM) protected segmented content item to a content processing device is described wherein segmented content item is associated with a manifest file, comprising at least a first segment identifier associated with a first segment being encrypted on the basis a first key; and, a second segment identifier associated with a different, second, segment being encrypted on the basis of a second key; said manifest file further comprising key information for enabling decryption of at least one of said first and second encrypted segments. Said method may comprise: a secure module, preferably a DRM module, in said content processing device requesting a DRM server access to at least part of said segmented content item; and, providing said secure module access to at least part of said key information, if said content access request is granted by said DRM server.
Abstract:
A method for a receiver device to obtain a control word, the control word for decrypting encrypted content received from a content provider system, the method comprising the receiver device: obtaining a plurality of amounts of key data, wherein, for each amount of key data, said obtaining comprises using one or more corresponding keys to obtain said amount of key data from a secured form of said amount of key data received by said receiver device, and wherein, for each amount of key data, said one or more corresponding keys comprises at least one key shared between the receiver device and a respective security system associated with the content provider system; and obtaining said control word using said plurality of amounts of key data.
