The present disclosure relates to a polyester composition comprising polyethylene terephthalate, at least one inorganic toner selected from the group consisting of ultramarine blue and iron oxide in an amount in the range of about 1 ppm to about 50 ppm with respect to the total mass of the composition, and at least one phosphate compound in the range of 5 ppm to 300 ppm based on the total weight of polyester composition. The present disclosure also relates to a process for the preparation of a polyester resin composition.

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist ein homogenisiertes Kompaktkomposit und ein Verfahren zu dessen Herstellungsowie dessen Verwendung. Durch Zermahlen eines Ausgangskompositmaterials aus einer mit Silikat und/oder Calciumphosphatphasen mineralisierten Kollagenmatrix erhält man zunächst ein kompaktierbares Kompositpulver definierter Größenverteilung, enthaltend Partikel aus einzelnen oder als Agglomerat vorliegenden, unregelmäßig mit Silikat und/oder einer Calciumphosphatphase mineralisiertem Kollagen. Durch Verpressen dieses Kompositpulvers bei Raumtemperatur und geringen Drücken wird ein homogenes Kompaktkomposit mit einem defektarmen Gefüge und einer bestimmten Form und Größe erzeugt.

There are provided methods of producing a component incorporating a bioactive material. In one embodiment the method comprises:(a) using a screw extruder to mix a polymeric material (I) with a bioactive material (II) and melt the polymeric material (I); and (b) making a component by moulding; and wherein the polymeric material (I) is of a type which includes:(i) phenyl moieties; (ii) ketone moieties; and (iii) ether moieties. Also provided are components comprising a polymeric material and a bioactive material.

A solid-state method of producing functionalized moieties, including placing predetermined amounts of inorganic and inorganic materials and milling media into a vessel rotatably connected to a turntable platform, an amount of an organic material into the vessel, rotating the vessel in a first direction while turning the turntable platform in a second direction counter to the first direction, milling the inorganic and organic materials into smaller respective organic and inorganic particles, and fusing portions of organic particles to inorganic parties to define functionalized moieties. The inorganic material may include calcium phosphates of varying phases, structure, and composition. The organic material may include anionic surfactants, cationic surfactants, neutral surfactants, carboxylic acids, polymers, copolymers, block copolymers, and combinations thereof.

The undesirable odor of poly(phenylene ether) has discouraged its adoption for some end uses. Melt-blending poly(phenylene ether) with a small amount of a phosphate salt or its hydrate is found to substantially reduce the odor without affecting physical or thermal properties. The odor-reduction method is applicable to poly(phenylene ether) alone or in combination with other resins.

The present invention relates particularly to an antifouling polymer based composition comprising polyethylene (PE) and at least one antifouling-active filler selected from the group consisting of 2-methylthio-4-ethylamino-6-tert-butylamino-s-triaz.ine, 2,4,4'-trichloro-2'-hydroxy diphenyl ether, 2-benzisothiazol-3-one, zinc oxide, bis(2-pyridilthio)zinc 1,1'-dioxide, metal-doped hydroxyapatite, copper-containing chitosan or mixtures thereof, wherein the anti fouling-active filler is present in a range of 0.1-5 parts by weight based on 100 parts by weight of polyethylene.
