Abstract:
A user on a cable network can request and receive a digital license for viewing certain requested content provided to the user at a set top box on the cable network. The set top box generates a request for a license to the Cable Service Provider, which screens the request, and if allowed, ascertains a Content Provider for fulfilling the request. The cables services provider forwards the request to the Content Provider, and receives a response thereto, which includes a license for viewing the previously requested content. The cable services provided forwards the license to the set top box, which processes the license allowing the user to view the requested content. Both the Cable Service Provider and the Content Provider screen and analyze the request against various criteria and record the information for future processing.
Abstract:
In a method for communicating media content stored on a digital video recorder (DVR) protected by a first DRM system to a portable multimedia device (PMD) using a second DRM system, in which the first DRM system differs from the second DRM system, a request for communication of a media content item stored on the DVR to the PMD is received. In addition, a portable content key is employed to encrypt the media content item to a PMD format suitable content version and the encrypted PMD format suitable content version is communicated to the PMD along with a portable content identifier (ID).
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a method for the protection of keys sent from a secure token (USIM) to a terminal (ME), said keys being traffic keys (MTK) used to decrypt a portion of content received from a content delivery center (BM-SC), said traffic keys being sent from said content delivery center (BM-SC) to the secure token (USIM) via a terminal (ME) using the MIKEY protocol defined by IETF RFC 3830. The method further comprises the steps of (a) - decrypting in the secure token encrypted traffic keys received from content delivery center thereby producing traffic keys, and decryption by the terminal (ME) of the content received from the content delivery center (BM-SC) by using said traffic keys, characterized in that said method further comprises the step of (b) - encrypting in the secure token, using the MIKEY protocol defined by IETF RFC 4738, said traffic keys, and decryption by the terminal of said IETF RFC 3830-protocol-encrypted traffic keys.
Abstract:
Methods and systems enable receiving on mobile devices credits, tokens or coupons from mobile TV broadcast service providers. Credits may be delivered via direct unicast messages such as SMS or e-mail, or via broadcast provisioning messages. Subscription response messages may be used to deliver credits to mobile devises which transmit a request for service. Broadcast service providers may push credits to mobile devices by transmitting a solicited pull message or a credit grant push message. Credits may be sent to mobile devices within a credit response message or a long term decryption key message. Credits may be used a purchase transaction, with the broadcast service provider controlling redemption of credits by sending an a long term decryption key message via a unicast network or a short term decryption key message via the broadcast network to cause mobile devices to decrement their stored credits.
Abstract:
An apparatus for providing mobile broadcast service protection may include a processor. The processor may be configured to receive an indication of device groupings defining at least a first group of devices and a second group of devices in which the first and second groups are defined on the basis of a device characteristic, communicate a first security key providing access to a first message stream associated with a mobile broadcast service to the first group of devices, and communicate a second security key providing access to a second message stream associated with the same mobile broadcast service to the second group of devices. Methods and computer program products corresponding to the apparatus are also provided from the perspective of a network device and mobile terminal.
Abstract:
A method of identifying a receiver device from which pirated video decryption keys have been obtained consistent with certain embodiments involves organizing a population of receiver devices into a plurality of N groups; associating the N groups with a plurality of N decryption keys, where each of the N groups is associated with one of the N decryption keys, where the N decryption keys are used for either decryption of content or decryption of other decryption keys; causing the plurality of N decryption keys to be obtained by their associated N groups of receiver devices by direct delivery or by derivation at the receiver devices; and identifying a pirated key as being associated with one of the N groups so as to identify the receiver device from which the pirated video decryption keys have been obtained as belonging to one of the N groups. This abstract is not to be considered limiting, since other embodiments may deviate from the features described in this abstract.
Abstract:
An embodiment of the invention provides a system, method and device for realizing IPTV media content security protection, relating to communications field, aiming at realizing IPTV media content protection. Therein the system comprises: a user equipment (UE) , a service control function entity(SCF), an IMS core network(IMS Core), a media function entity(MF), and a key managing function entity(KMF), wherein the media function entity for providing a key for the user equipment; said service control function entity for providing service control of IPTV service; said media function entity for sending encrypted media content to the user equipment; said user equipment for receiving the media content from the media function entity, and using the key received to gain the decrypted media content. The embodiment of the invention is applied to IPTV.
Abstract:
A method and system for secure communication is provided. The method for secure communication with devices includes: obtaining a parameter for protecting a content; authenticating each other by exchanging a certificate with the device; and exchanging a key with the device using a key authenticated through the certificate to establish a secure authenticated channel with the device. Accordingly, it is possible to establish the secure authenticated channel and perform secure communication by computing a secure authenticated channel key.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for decoding of encoded signals representing at least image information from a storage medium is claimed. A storage device is configured to receive the storage medium. A decoder is configured receive the compressed encrypted encoded signals from the storage medium, and send the signals to a decryptor. The decryptor is configured to decrypt the compressed encrypted encoded signals, and send the signals to a decompressor. The decompressor is configured to receive the compressed encoded signals from the decryptor and to decompress the compressed encoded signals to enable display of the image.
