Abstract:
A method and apparatus for managing entitlements in a broadcast stream are disclosed. The method includes receiving a manifest containing program information for a program in the broadcast stream, with the program information providing a program entitlement block. The method uses entitlements specified in the program entitlement block to enforce entitlements for the program.
Abstract:
Examples provided herein are directed to social-media playback queues. In one example, a computing system may be configured to (i) receive an identifier of a media playback system, (ii) link the identifier with a social-media account, (iii) based at least on linking the identifier with the social-media account, generate a social-media playback queue that is flllable with one or more media items playable by the media playback system, (iv) establish access permissions to the social-media playback queue, where the access permissions indicate at least one additional social media account that (a) is within a social- media network of the social-media account, and (b) has access to the social-media playback queue, (v) receive, from a computing device affiliated with the at least one additional social-media account, an indication of a media item to be added to the social-media playback queue, and (vi) add the media item to the social-media playback queue.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An example implementation may involve a media playback system obtaining an authorization token corresponding to a particular queue of media items at a remote server. The media playback system may send to the remote server, (i) the obtained authorization token, and (ii) a request for access to one or more media items of the particular queue. The media playback system may receive, from the remote server, an indication that the media playback system may access the one or more media items.
Abstract:
Systems and methods related to establishing a temporary trusted relationship between a network-based media service and a device that does not have a trusted relationship with the network-based media service are disclosed. In one embodiment, a method of operation of a first device having a trusted relationship with a network-based media service to establish a temporary trusted relationship between the network-based media service and a second device that does not have a trusted relationship with the network-based media service is provided. In one embodiment, the method of operation of the first device includes obtaining a certificate of the second device, generating a temporary token for the second device based on the certificate of the second device, and sending the temporary token for the second device to a server that provides the network-based media service to thereby pre-authorize the second device for temporary media service.
Abstract:
A system for securely providing streaming media content on-demand may include a plurality of receiving devices in which each receiving device may request the same or different streaming media content (e.g., stored at a content storage system of a content delivery network) on-demand using VOD or other available on-demand services and/or applications associated with, in communication with or running on the respective receiving devices. In response, the content storage system of the content delivery network will encrypt the requested content uniquely for each received request (e.g., according to an encryption key that is unique for each or virtually each request) and deliver the encrypted requested content to the appropriate respective receiving device of the receiving devices. The respective receiving devices will then each decrypt the streaming content as it is being received according to the corresponding decryption key communicated from a respective individual secure remote to the respective receiving device.
