Abstract:
The invention concerns a process for producing etched structures in substrates by means of anisotropic plasma etching. An isotropic etching operation and a side wall passivation are carried out in separate and alternating operations. The substrate (2) is a polymer, a metal, or a multi-component system and portions (8) of the side wall passivation layer (6) applied during the side wall passivation are transferred to the exposed lateral surfaces (7') of the side wall (7) during each subsequent etching operations as a result of which the entire process becomes anisotropic.

The present invention relates to an atmospheric-type burner intended for use in heaters such as a hot water apparatus, with a) a gas supply device (14) comprising a) a plurality of flow nozzles (12), b) an injector unit (16) including at least one discharge pipe (18) for the air-gas mixture, c) a reversing area (22) connecting, in the direction of flow, with the injector unit and opening out into a mixture distributor (24) which tapers out (24), and d) a mixture distributor (4) outlet associated with blades (830, 31) through a cooling pipe system (32) and defining between them channels or slots (34) for the passage of the air-gas mixture, which is ignited on a burner plate (36) turned to the combustion chamber. Thus, a burner can be built which is compact, of a small height and with a low NOx and Co emission rate.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a method enabling bump-free flip chip assembly of ICs (6) on a substrate (1) using anisotropically conductive adhesives (ACAs). The adhesive contains solder particles (4) causing metallurgic bonding between IC and substrate i.e. selective diffusion to bonding pads (2, 5). In this way finer contact spacings can be processed with the same amount of filler material i.e. greater miniaturization can be obtained and larger bumps between the IC and the substrate can be smoothed out. The method is particularly suited to flip chip assembly on ceramics, glass-ceramics or multi-chip modules and flexible base materials.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a non-contact magnetoresistive sensor, especially an angular sensor, which sends an output signal dependent on the angular position which is to be detected and has a certain dependence on temperature. Dependence on temperature is however minimal for certain angles. Initially, the angular sensor output signal is detected on the angular range with at least two different temperatures, and one of the angles, where the deviation between the signals is low, is selected as a zero point for the subsequent measurements.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electrical circuit to detect load current for a clocked, controlled load having at least one inductive component associated to a free-wheeling circuit. The circuit comprises a shunt resistor whose voltage drop is taken into account in order to detect current. According to the invention the shunt resistor (SH) is located in the free-wheeling circuit (4) in order to detect free-wheeling current (IF) which is taken as a measure for determining the load current (motor current IM). In another embodiment the shunt is series-connected with the load and the free-wheeling circuit is parallel to the series connection of load and shunt.
Abstract:
A drawing-off device (10) for a pressurized liquid (1) in a storage vessel such as ampoules, vials, etc. Said device comprises a liquid (1) storage vessel (11) connected to a distributor (15, 15a) via a supply tube (14, 14a). A sterile filter (18) is inserted into the supply tube (14, 14a). According to the invention a separate pressure connection (19; 19a) is provided for the distributor (15, 15a) so that the latter can be emptied completely and the liquid (1) located in the distributor (15, 15a) is pressurized by a second gas pressure (P2).
Abstract:
The invention concerns an arrangement for determining the state of a high-pressure gas discharge lamp on switching-on, wherein a control device either impresses a specific current into the lamp and measures the resultant voltage drop, or applies a specific voltage to the lamp and measures the resultant flowing lamp current and, as a function of the result, triggers the light according to the established lamp state.
Abstract:
The present invention pertains to a method for wireless transmission of local or useful information. The local information is sent to a mobile station from a preferably fixed transmitter/receiver pair located in proximity of said mobile station (5) for the purpose of localizing same (5). The useful information is sent between a fixed station (1) and the mobile station (5). From the fixed station (1) the transmission of useful information is interrupted at set times. The local information is sent from the transmitter/receiver pair (10) at such times when the transmission of useful information from the fixed station (1) is interrupted. The useful information sent from the fixed station (1) is also received at the transmitter/receiver pair (10) for the purpose of timing with the transmission of local information. Consequently, a transmitter/receiver pair (10) for transmitting local information is suggested, consisting of a receiver (15) for receiving radio-frequency signals preferably sent in an ultra high frequency band and a transmitter (20) for sending local information preferably in an ultra high frequency band. A timing device (24) is also provided for triggering the activation of the transmitter for sending local information at such times when the reception of radio-frequency signals is interrupted.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sensor system (24) intended for locating moveable elements (20), preferably for retrieving a parking place by means of a windscreen wiper (12, 14). The sensor is used for making the edge of the voltage test signal (UM) steeper, thereby reducing the lack of accuracy when determining the location of the moveable element (20). The inventive system (24) includes a Hall sensor (30) and a control magnet (32) mobile relative to said captor and preferably so mounted on a rotating part (30) that, in case of relative motion by the mobile element (20) in the direction of movement, the control magnet (32) gets closer to the Hall sensor, aided by the attractive force first from the magnetic north pole (N) and then from the magnetic south pole.
