Provided is a thioether-functional, oligomeric polythiol having pendant hydroxyl functional groups, prepared by reacting together: (a) a compound having at least two thiol functional groups; and (b) a hydroxyl functional compound having triple bond functionality. Also provided are optical articles prepared from the reaction product of: (A) a reactive compound having functional groups that are reactive with active hydrogens; (B) a thioether-functional, oligomeric polythiol; and, optionally, (C) a compound different from (B) containing active hydrogens.

The present invention is directed to microcapsules having polymeric shells that possess blocking groups (e.g., amine-blocking groups), the removal or cleavage of which act to initiate release of the core material therein, or increase the rate at which such core material is released. The present invention is further directed to the formulation of said microcapsules in aqueous dispersions, to the preparation of said microcapsules, and to the use of such microcapsules and dispersions thereof.

Flexible, moisture curing ABA triblock copolymers are prepared from poly(alkylene oxide) diols as the B segment and polyester diols as the A block. This backbone is end-capped with siloxy end groups to obtain RTV moisture curing triblocks having high strength and flexibility.

A metal product surface-treated with an alkali-soluble lubricating film, characterized in that one or both sides of the metal product are coated with an alkali-soluble lubricating film comprising, as main components, an aqueous composition containing an alkali-soluble polyurethane having a polyether polyol as a skeleton and containing a carboxyl group in the molecule thereof, and a lubricity-imparting agent in an amount of 1 to 30 mass % relative to the aqueous composition containing an alkali-soluble polyurethane, in a film thickness of 0.5 to 10 mu m, and the film has a coefficient of elasticity of 0.5 to GPa at 25 DEG C after coating. The metal product exhibits excellent formability and excellent film removal property which is stable for a long time and independent of the temperature for drying the film.

Fluorochemical urethane compositions comprising one or more compounds or oligomers having at least on fluorine-containing repeatable unit and at least one fluorine-containing terminal group are described. The compositions are useful as coatings or incorporated as melt additives. The fluorochemical compositions impart oil and water repellency to the substrate. In other aspects, this invention relates to processes for imparting oil and water repellency characteristics to substrates and articles.

A two-part adhesive composition of the invention comprises first and second parts each containing urethane acrylate having a polytetramethylene glycol skeleton and an acrylate having a hydroxyl group in its molecule, wherein the first part further contains a diacyl peroxide and the second part further contains a tertiary amine. Either one, or both, of the first and second parts may further contain a photo-polymerization initiator.

The present invention provides radiation curable resin compositions that contain no or essentially no volatile organic components (VOCs), and to methods of using these compositions. The radiation curable resin compositions find particular use as coating compositions. In particular, the radiation curable resin compositions of this invention comprise a vinyl dioxolane end-capped oligomer blended with a photoinitiator.
