    Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for reinforcing irregular rock or irregular concrete surfaces such as rock structures in mines as well as other rock and concrete structures. The method includes applying a curable foam composition to at least a portion of a surface, at least partially curing the curable foam composition to form a foam layer adhered to the surface, applying a curable reinforcing composition onto at least a portion of the foam layer, and at least partially curing the curable reinforcing composition to form a reinforcing layer, wherein at least a portion of the reinforcing layer is adhered to the foam layer.

    Abstract: Systems and methods of staining a surface. An organic salt is used in combination with a metal salt to provide a decorative stain that can be used to stain any of a variety of pH basic surfaces, including concrete. In at least some implementations, urea hydrochloride or an equivalent thereof is used as an organic salt in combination with a metal salt to create an alkali reactive decorative stain that can be used to stain any of a variety of pH basic surfaces, including concrete. The urea hydrochloride is safe and environmentally fit to use. Different metal salts are used and/or mixed to obtain a desired color and/or appearance.

    Abstract: Provided is a novel method for sealing natural stone. The method comprises applying a base coat comprising a synthetic polymer, drying the base coat, applying a UV-cure topcoat, volatizing organic solvents from the topcoat, and curing the UV- cure topcoat by exposure to UV light. The UV-cure topcoat used in the method comprises an acrylate oligomer, photoinitiators, and flow and wetting additives. Methods are also provided wherein the topcoat further comprises a fungal inhibitor. The described methods provide a coating with excellent adhesion, and a smoother, more uniform topcoat. Moreover, this coating system allows moisture to migrate from the back side of tile through the coatings to evaporate to the surface, a feature critical to preventing deterioration of the stone over time.
