The system and methods described herein deliver activity-based targeted messages to a device. In embodiments, a method comprises receiving a first signal; determining, based upon the first signal, a current location and speed of a device; determining an activity of a user of the device based upon at least one of the device's current location and current speed; selecting a message based upon the activity of the user; and transmitting the message. In embodiments, a system is presented comprising a receiver adapted to receive a first signal; a component adapted to determine, based upon the first signal, a current location and speed of a device; a component adapted to determine an activity of a user of the device based upon at least one of the device's current location and speed; a component adapted to select a message based upon the activity; and a transmitter adapted to transmit the message.

The present invention relates to a measuring device comprising: a float body (110) moving together with a body of water; a GPS receiving unit (120) mounted in the float body (110) for receiving GPS location information; and a location and time information transmission unit (130) for transmitting the received information of the GPS location and the measured time; and to a measuring system employing the same. Advantages of the present invention include a significant reduction in errors compared to the convention depending on the visual observation, a rendering of the requirement of multiple workers for the measurement unnecessary, a reduction in working time due to the possible simultaneous measurement even in the case multiple floats are dropped, a precise measuring capability even in rainy weather or at night, and a minimization of errors measured even in flood seasons in which the flow rate is fast and rapidly changed.

Erfindungsgemäß verfügt das Videotracking-System ferner über ein unabhängiges Positionierungssystem, das vorzugsweise dann zum Einsatz kommt, wenn die videobasierte Positionsermittlung fehlerhaft ist oder fehlschlägt. In einer Ausführungsform ist das unabhängige Positionierungssystem GPS-basiert, wobei jeder Fußballspieler ein tragbares GPS-Modul mit sich führt, das die Positionsdaten per Funk an das System übermittelt. Zusätzlich können weitere Daten, wie etwa die Herzfrequenz oder Beschleunigung, übertragen werden.

A tracking device and system for tracking medical supplies, in particular, medical trays and their components is disclosed The device utilizes GPRS/GSM technology to enable an individual to locate and monitor the movement of a medical tray at any given time and for any desired period of time. The tracking system utilizes geo-fences established within buildings to determine the specific location of the medical trays within these buildings. The tracking devices can also be activated by motion sensors to alert the system of a possible theft of the tray. The system incorporates software which enables an individual to determine the location of medical trays, determine the contents of the trays and schedule the use of the medical trays by specific doctors and at specific locations. The tracking system also retains information regarding the doctors, the medical device manufacture representatives, the hospitals and sales of the medical devices.

A wireless bidirectional communication system and method for tracking smart tags affixed to assets located within a defined area. Asset tracking is provided by a central processor operated by a user. The central processor combined with communication modules communicates with the system tags for deriving corresponding assets' locations. Communication is synchronized by way of broadcasting a clock generator signal over the communication link. The broadcasted clock signal is further used by the system for generating distinct time slots assigned to a tag by demand. Synchronizing the communication between the tags and the central processor is beneficial for maintaining reliable and short messages across the data link and maintaining low power draw from the tag battery.

A position determining device is disclosed comprising a satellite navigation receiver for automatically providing computed position information, when the device has changed its position relative to a predetermined location, to a paging transmitter for transmission to a paging receiver for readout of the computed position information. The readout may be in the form of coordinates and may be accompanied by a message or alarm. The device may be configured as a portable unit of small size and economical manufacture.
