Abstract:
A diazonium compound of formula (I), wherein Z is selected from the group consisting of biotin, an antigen, an antibody, a photoreactive group, a fluorescent group and heavy metal-containing compounds; X is an alkylene group containing up to 18 carbon atoms in the principle chain and a total of up to 24 carbon atoms or a substituted alkylene group containing up to 18 carbon atoms in the principle chain with substituents selected from the group consisting of solubility-enhancing groups and cleavable -S-S- containing moieties; Ar is an unsubstituted or substituted aryl or heteroaryl; and Y is an anion and n is an integer from 1-3.
Abstract:
A method for detecting the presence in a human of an integral membrane calcium-binding protein associated with essential hypertension which comprises isolating tissue from a human, treating the tissue to obtain integral membrane proteins, contacting the proteins thus obtained with a first antibody molecule which binds to the integral membrane calcium binding protein to form a detectable protein-antibody complex, and detecting the complex so formed. Further, methods for quantitatively determining the amount of an integral membrane calcium-binding protein and the messenger RNA encoding said protein, diagnostic methods for identifying individuals predisposed to essential hypertension, and protein and messenger RNA associated with said hypertension.
Abstract:
Method and test kit for detecting Clq-containing complexes in human serum containing native serum Cl. The method uses a monoclonal antibody which selectively reacts with human Clq in the presence of native human serum Cl. Preparation of hybridomas generating such antibodies is also disclosed. The method is applicable to detection of autoimmune diseases and AIDS.
Abstract:
An improved, more convenient, more sensitive test for detection of certain malignancies in human and animal subjects. Sera from test subjects is mixed with labeled DNA in the presence of an enzyme-conjugated matrix. Sera from normal and cancerous subjects react differently with the matrix, permitting a diagnosis of the subject.
Abstract:
Method for detecting the presence of a nucleic acid sequence such as a gene or a gene fragment in a composition or sample which is supposed to contain it. It is characterized in that said composition is contacted with a probe containing a nucleic acid complementary of the nucleic acid sequence or of the gene searched for in certain conditions enabling particularly such hybridation, the probe carrying at least a N-2-acetylaminofluorene group fixed covalently to at least one of the bases of said probe, the possible presence of the nucleic acid sequence or the gene searched for being then revealed by the action of efficient antibodies in relation to the N-2-(guanosine-8-yl)-acetylaminofluorene or antibodies which have been previously prepared in relation to the probe carrying acetylaminofluorene residues.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A method of diagnosis using an attached material for binding to an immune complex, by treating the bound complex with a series of different reagents or mixtures thereof and detecting the presence or absence of reaction in each case, this method being based on immune complexes produced in the body during infection and allowing much earlier detection and diagnosis of infection thereby providing the facility for treatment to reduce the damage caused to the body by the formation of complex.
Abstract:
Anticorps IgM monocloniques produits de maniere hybridomale possedant une affinite elevee, utile pour l'analyse immunologique et la purification d'antigenes viraux.
Abstract:
A rapid, sensitive and specific radioreceptor assay for measuring benzodiazepines in plasma and other biological specimens without sophisticated equipement or methodology. This method is based on the competition between [ sH] diazepam or tritiated flunitrazepam and pharmacologically active benzodiazepines present in plasma, for binding sites on rat brain synaptosomal membranes. No interference is obtained with drag-free plasma or plasma samples containing high concentrations of other commonly used drugs. High correlations (r = 0.98;p
Abstract:
The invention relates to methods and compositions for identifying subjects having, or predisposed to having, gestational diabetes, preeclampsia, and gestational hypertension. The methods are applicable to urine and/or blood samples and can be conducted prior to the third trimester of pregnancy.
