Abstract:
A process for the preparation of alkoxysulfates from organic compounds containing one or more nucleophilic groups by reacting said organic compound, in a water- miscible solvent selected from the group consisting of sulfur-containing solvents such as dirnethylsulfoxide (DMSO) or sulfolane, or polar solvents such as tetrahydrofuran (THF), dimethylformamide (DMF), dimethylacetamide (DMA) and hexamethylphosphoric triamide (HMPT), with an alkylene sulfate, in a non-water-miscible solvent selected from the group consisting of chlorinated solvents such as methylene chloride, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride, trichloroethane or chlorinated aromatics, such as chlorobenzene or dichlorobenzene, and non-chlorinated aromatics, such as toluene or xylenes, in the presence of a base selected from the group consisting of hydroxides, carbonates and hydrogen carbonates of alkali metals or alkaline earth metals.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a novel process for the preparation of compounds of the formula (I) by mixing in a first step amino alcohols of the formula (II) with sulfuric acid to yield the salt, by then reacting them in a second step in a drying device to give sulfuric acid esters of the general formula (III) and by reacting these sulfuric acid esters in a third step with mercaptans or salts thereof of the general formula (IV): RSM in each formula, where applicable, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 , R 4 , R 5 , R 6 , R, n and M have the meanings given in the description, in the presence of a diluent and in the presence of a base.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a sulfation process comprising the steps of: a) reacting a tertiary amine with a sulfation precursor having the formula (I) wherein R is C1-C22 alkyl, C7-C22 alkylenearyl, and mixtures thereof; to form an admixture comprising a quaternized amine and a sulfating species; and b) reacting a hydroxyl species with said admixture to form a sulfated hydroxyl species. The process of the present invention is adaptable to sulfating a wide range of alcohols including the hydroxyl unit which terminates a polyalkoxylate moiety which are prevalent in the area of surfactants, inter alia, alkyl ethoxy sulfates.
Abstract:
Washing and cleaning agents are disclosed, which comprise an effective proportion of one or several detergents of formula (I), where a = 11, 12 or 13, R and R = independently H or alkyl group, R = H, sulphate or phosphate group and x and y = 0 200; further conventional additives and auxiliaries for washing and cleaning agents and optionally further additional detergents.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a surfactant for general use in agricultural compositions, including, but not limited to herbicidal, fungicidal and insecticidal formulations comprised of two components: an alkoxylated tristyrylphenol acid neutralized to the desired pH or properties with an appropriate amount of alkoxylated alkyl amine.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method of converting a hydroxy group in alcohols containing an electron withdrawing group into perfluoroalkanesulphonate and fluorosulphonate esters, which are good leaving groups, with inversion of configuration where the hydroxyl-bearing carbon is chiral. The method consists of converting said alcohol to an O-N,N-dialkylsulphamate ester and reacting said O-N,N-dialkylsulphamate ester with a perfluoroalkanesulphonic acid or fluorosulphonic acid. Such a method is useful for preparing chiral compounds for pharmaceutical and agrochemical use.
Abstract:
The invention concerns a reagent and a family of compounds. The reagent contains by successive or simultaneous addition: a material of formula RfH, a silicophilic base, a trivalent nitrogenous derivative containing no hydrogen and at least two silyl groups. The invention is useful for organic synthesis.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing (S,S)-N,N'-ethylenediamine disuccinic acid or analogous compounds or salts thereof by reacting L-asparaginic acid, L-glutaminic acid or L-cysteic acid with 1,2-bissulfooxyethane, 1,3,2-dioxathiolane-2,2-dioxide or mixtures thereof or 1,3-bissulfooxy-2-hydroxypropane in the presence of a base and optional successive acidification with an acid. In addition, the invention relates to a method for producing (S,S)-N,N'-ethylenediamine disuccinic acid or analogous compounds or salts thereof by reacting N-(2-sulfooxyethyl)-L-asparaginic acid or salts thereof with L-asparaginic acid or corresponding compounds based on L-glutaminic acid, L-cysteic acid and/or 1,3-bissulfooxy-2-hydroxypropane in the presence of a base and optional successive acidification with an acid.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for stabilising aqueous ester sulphate tensides by adjusting the preparations to a pH of 5 to 8 and adding 0.1 to 1 wt. % organic carboxylic acids. In this way, said preparations are protected against hydrolysis for months.
Abstract:
The invention relates to novel fatty alcohol (ether) sulphates which are obtained in that mixtures of (a) fatty alcohols with 6 to 22 carbon atoms and (b) fatty alcohol ethoxylates with 6 to 22 carbon atoms and 1.9 to 3.9 ethylene oxide units in a ratio 20:80 to 80:20 by weight are sulphated in a manner known per se. Said mixtures are subsequently neutralised with aqueous bases. In comparison with ether sulphates with comparable ethoxylation levels the low-temperature behaviour of the substances is clearly improved.
