Systems and methods for operating a quantum Otto cycle, including a superconducting LC resonator circuit electrically coupled to an input control unit with a reservoir source and a waveform generator configured to generate a bias current. A superconducting flux qubit is coupled to the LC resonator via a superconducting quantum interference device ("SQUID"). The SQUID generates a flux in the presence of the bias current, and the flux generated by the SQUID mediates a coupling rate between the flux qubit and the LC resonator. The waveform generator alternates the bias current to adiabatically change the coupling rate between the flux qubit and the LC resonator during adiabatic stages of the quantum Otto cycle. The reservoir source sends pulses to thermalize the flux qubit and the LC resonator system during isochoric stages of the quantum Otto cycle.

При этом парогенератор включает функцию теплоаккумулятора кратковременного хранения тепловой энергии и представляет собой сосуд с теплоизоляцией, заполненный высокотемпературной жидкостью. Причем установка включает первый замкнутый циркуляционный контур с высокотемпературным теплоносителем, в который последовательно включены коллектор и парогенератор, при этом первый контур содержит теплообменник, расположенный в парогенераторе. Установка включает второй замкнутый циркуляционный контур с низкокипящим рабочим веществом, в который последовательно включены парогенератор, паровая турбина, кинематически соединенная с электрогенератором, и конденсатор, который включает теплообменник, соединенный с трубопроводом для подачи холодной воды и трубопроводом для выхода горячей воды, причем второй контур содержит теплообменник, расположенный в парогенераторе.

A process for producing GNP-based polymeric nanocomposites for electromagnetic applications such as shielding and/or absorption of the energy associated to electromagnetic fields envisages a plurality of steps that comprise: controlled synthesis, for optimizing the morphological and electrical properties thereof, of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) to be used as nanofillers in a polymeric matrix; selection of said polymeric matrix so as to optimize its chemical compatibility with the type of GNPs thus obtained; production by means of the solution-processing technique of GNP-based polymeric nanocomposites with dielectric permittivity and electric conductivity controlled and predictable via the equivalent-effective-medium model by calibrating the parameters of the model for the specific type of polymeric matrix and GNPs used.

An X-ray tube, a medical X-ray device comprising such X-raytube and a method for operating such X-ray tube are proposed. The X-ray tube (1) comprises an electron emitter (3) with a substrate (4) having an electron emission surface (5). The electron emission surface (5) is adapted for field emission of electrons therefrom by providing a substantial roughness. Such roughness may be obtained by applying carbon nano-tubes (19) onto the electron emission surface (5). A field generator (7) is provided for generating an electrical field adjacent to the electron emission surface (5) for inducing field emission of electrons therefrom. Furthermore, a heater arrangement (15) is provided and adapted for heating the electron emission surface (5) contemporaneous with the field emission of electrons. Accordingly, while electrons are emitted from the electron emission surface (5) due to a field effect, this electron emission surface (5) may also be heated to substantial temperatures of between 100 and 1000°C. It has been observed that such heating may stabilize electron emission characteristics as the emitter (3)as adsorbents or contaminations to the carbon nano- tubes may be reduced.
