Abstract:
A method and apparatus that affect vacuum to massage a volume of the skin and one or more types of skin treatment energies coupled to the massaged volume to treat the skin and subcutaneous adipose tissue and produce a desired treatment effect. The method and apparatus are based on coupling an array or a number of arrays being an assembly of skin treatment units with each skin treatment unit including a hollow cavity and a number of different energy to skin applying elements operative to receive skin treatment energy from a source of such energy and couple or apply the received energy to a treated segment of skin.
Abstract:
A system method and device, the system including a gait device for facilitating a gait of a person over a surface and one or a plurality of crutches to provide support over the surface the gait device, each of said one or a plurality of crutches including a locomotion facilitator to enhance locomotion of that crutch over the surface and a mechanism to modify the locomotion of that crutch over the surface.
Abstract:
The invention relates to an electrical circuit comprising an electric cell, a load supplied by the electric cell, and an interruption component for the circuit exhibiting a threshold voltage value above which it is passing and below which it is blocking. According to the invention, the electrical circuit is characterized in that the interruption component is arranged in the circuit in such a way that it is passing when the voltage of the electric cell is above said threshold voltage value and in such a way that it is blocking when the voltage of the electric cell is below said threshold voltage value. The invention also relates to a device for massage and/or application of cosmetic product comprising such an electrical circuit.
Abstract:
A mobility apparatus for assisting a person to walk comprising first and second frames which are adapted to be releasably coupled to one another such that the first and second frames are movable between an engaged position in which the frames are coupled together which skirt a person and a disengaged position where the first and second frames are separated from one another.
Abstract:
The object of the invention is an adjustable massage apparatus, the massage effect of which is based on the suction effect created in association with the treatment head, the treatment head of the apparatus comprising a surface which comes in contact with the skin, a frame, and in connection with this surface a low-pressure chamber and a low- pressure hose in connection with the low-pressure chamber for created low-pressure suction in order to lift the skin tissue. The apparatus is mainly characterized in that a valve is arranged in connection with the low-pressure hose for adjusting the low-pressure suction created in the low-pressure chamber so that the pressure in the low-pressure chamber is oscillating between an upper limit and a lower limit.
Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and apparatuses that can facilitate recovery from various kinds of hip surgery. Example embodiments comprise a foot motion subsystem and a knee restraint, wherein a patient's foot engaged with the foot holder is moved and the patient's knee is restrained such that motion of the foot is transmitted to the patient's hip.
Abstract:
A apparatus includes an a exoskeleton system with a plurality of sensors for generating signals indicating a current motion and a current arrangement of at least the exoskeleton system, a hip segment, and at least one lower limb. The lower limb includes thigh and shank segments for coupling to a lateral surface of a user's leg. The thigh segment includes a first powered joint coupling the thigh segment to the hip segment, a second powered joint coupling the thigh segment to the shank segment, and a controller coupled to the sensors, the first powered joint, and the second powered joint. The controller is configured for determining a current state of the exoskeleton system and a current intent of the user based on the signals and generating control signals for the first and second powered joints based on the current state and the current intent.
Abstract:
A resuscitation system for use in resuscitation of cardiac arrest victims includes an ECG monitor programmed to monitor an organized, non-shockable rhythm of an electrocardiogram (ECG) signal from a patient undergoing lifesaving cardiac care; a processor programmed to identify a time during an electrocardiographic cycle of the ECG signal during which a vulnerable period for risk of fibrillation induction of the ECG will occur; and control circuitry for generating signals to cause a parameter descriptive of chest compressions to be modified so as to minimize risk of induction of fibrillation during the vulnerable period.
