Abstract:
Novel crystalline particles, methods for manufacture of crystalline particles, and solid unit dosage forms, particularly tablets or capsules, of bis-choline tetrathiomolybdate are provided. In particular, provided herein are crystalline particles that allow for a more stable sol id unit dosage form of bis-choline tetrathiomolybdate.
Abstract:
The disclosure provides methods for making a quaternary ammonium compound, such as comprising: providing an amine composition comprising an amine of the formula R[CONH(CH2) n ] z N(R 1 )(R 2 ), wherein z is 0-1, n is 2-5, R is C 10 -C 22 alkyi or C 10 -C 22 alkylene, and R 1 and R 2 independently represent hydroxy C 1 -C 8 alkyi or C 1 -C 8 alkyi, wherein at least one of R 1 and R 2 is hydroxy C 1 -C 8 alkyi; a solvent with a solubility in water of less than 5 % by weight; and water; and adding to the amine composition an acid; and a C 1 -C 8 alkylene oxide to produce a reaction mixture.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to amine soluble, or solid copper triazole based wood preservative formulations containing certain types of quaternary ammonium compounds, or nonionic surfactants, and the use of these quaternary ammonium compound-, or nonionic surfactant-containing formulations to pressure treat and preserve wood. The addition of the quaternary ammonium compounds, or nonionic surfactants to the wood preservation treatment solutions allows improved penetration of the copper from the solution into wood and reduces the duration of time required to effectively pressure treat the wood with the preservation composition.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a surfactant composition comprising an ionic liquid prepared from an unsubsituted or substituted primary, secondary or tertiary amine, or from an unsubstituted or substituted pyridine, amidine or guanidine with at least one fatty acid and/or resin acid. The invention also relates to a method for treating bitumen froth from a separation process, where bitumen is separated from mineral solids. The method comprises addition of said surfactant composition to the diluent and/or to the froth before phase separation.
Abstract:
A quaternary ammonium salt of formula wherein each of R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 is independently selected from an optionally substituted alkyl, alkenyl or aryl group having less than 8 carbon atoms and R 5 is hydrogen or an optionally substituted hydrocarbyl group.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a deep eutectic solvent comprising (2-R-ethyl)-trimethylammonium salt or a mixture of said salts, and a Lewis acid selected from boric acid, meta- boric acid, boronic acid, borinic acid, alkyl borates and hydrated borate salts, and any combinations thereof. The invention also relates to a method for the manufacture of said deep eutectic solvent, and to a method for dissolving polysaccharides.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a process for the production of choline hydroxide includes reacting at a temperature above 30.0° C ethylene oxide, trimethylamine, and water in the presence of an aqueous medium in such amounts as to form a diluted choline hydroxide solution having a choline hydroxide concentration of less than 40 wt% and removing at least a portion of the aqueous medium from the diluted choline hydroxide solution to form a concentrated aqueous choline hydroxide solution having a choline hydroxide concentration which is at least 1.05 times the choline hydroxide concentration of the diluted choline hydroxide solution. The process allows for large scale, continuous production of concentrated aqueous choline hydroxide solutions of good quality under economically advantaged consumption factors for ethylene oxide.
