Eine besonders effiziente und kosteneffektive Möglichkeit zur Bereitstellung von multitonalen Sequenzen zur Verwendung als Verbindungs-Status-Signalisierungs-Sequenzen wird beschrieben durch das Verfahren und die Vorrichtung zum Bereitstellen von multitonalen Sequenzen zur Verwendung als Verbindungs-Status-Signalisierungs-Sequenzen in einem Kommunikationsnetz, wobei für mindestens eine Rufnummer mindestens eine multitonale Sequenz zur Verwendung als Verbindungs-Status-Signalisierungs-Sequenz ausgewählt wird und wobei bei einem Anruf mindestens einer Rufnummer mindestens eine ausgewählte multitonale Sequenz als Verbindungs-Status-Signalisierungs-Sequenz verwendet wird.

A software monitoring and reporting application is provided for reporting presence information of networked entities in real time. The application includes a software agent for generating a presence information model; a data store for storing presence information tuples; and a monitor for detecting presence information updates and for synchronizing the updates with information in the data store. In a preferred embodiment the application is deployed and integrated to a communication center infrastructure wherein any given one or more of the entities may singularly or in plural spawn one or more agents whereupon the agents each spawn a container that is populated with current targeted presence and state information in most recent updated form and wherein the updates are synchronized with data in the data store.

An interactive Device Control System has a method and means for providing device control, call control, and communications system information for telecommunications and Internet voice and multimedia communications. A commmunications system, service, or device offers the user of a communications device having a display screen (32), such as a screen phone (32), the ability to control or influence the functions of the communications system. The PSTN (70) establishes and controls Internet (60) communications between communications systems and user devices (18, 32). Messages comprising information to be presented on the user's display (32) are sent from the communications system, service, or device, and interactive responses from the user indicate the selected control function. Call control messages from the communications system to the PSTN (70) execute the desired control function, such as transferring the call. The Interactive Device Control System operates across the PSTN (70) and the Internet, further enhancing the benefits of integrating the Internet with the PSTN (70).

Vorteilhafterweise sind der ersten Kommunikationseinheit (E1) eine Mehrzahl von Kommunikationsvorrichtungen (V11, V12) zugeordnet, die in den Angaben über Kommunikationsmöglichkeiten dargestellt werden. The invention relates to a method for determining, storing and utilizing terminal operating mode data in a telecommunication system, in which method the user can set his terminal into two or moreoperating modes. According to the invention, the operating mode of the terminal is changed; information regarding the change of operating mode is sent from the terminal to a telecommunication server, using a technique employed in the telecommunication network available; and the change of the operating mode of the terminal is saved on the telecommunication server.

A communication system comprises a database where various sets of map data combined with information on the positions of terminals connected through communication lines, means for requiring, when a first user requests for information on the position of a second user, the second user to approve the provision of the information, means for combining, if the second user has approved the provision, position information collected from the terminals of the first and second users with the map data selected based on the position information and read out of the database and for creating map information including the position information on the positions of the first and second users, and means for transmitting the created map information at least to the terminal of the first user.
