Abstract:
The present invention relates to novel halohydrin dehalogenase polypeptides and the polynucleotides that encode them. These polypeptides are useful in the production of 4-substituted-3-butyric acid derivatives and vicinal cyano, hydroxyl substituted carboxylic acid esters. The invention also provides related vectors, host cells and methods.
Abstract:
Enantioselective or enantiospecific nitrilases and nitrile hydratases are used to produce R or S enantiomers of amides, and carboxylic acids. R-amino acids and S-amino acids are produced using such enantioselective enzymes. In addition, methods of producing and screening enantioselective nitrilases and nitrile hydratases are provided.

Abstract:
Methods for sensing test stimuli using arrays of biopolymers are provided. Libraries of biopolymers, such nucleic acid variants, and expression products encoded by nucleic acid variants are provided. Reusable library arrays, and methods for their use are provided.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates to methods of rapidly and efficiently searching biologically-related data space. More specifically, the invention includes methods of identifying bio-molecules with desired properties, or which are most suitable for acquiring such properties, from complex bio-molecule libraries or sets of such libraries. The invention also provides methods of modeling sequence-activity relationships. As many of the methods are computer-implemented, the invention additionally provides digital systems and software for performing these methods.

Abstract:
The present invention provides methods and compositions for preparing 4-substituted 3-hydroxybutyric acid derivatives by halohydrin dehalogenase-catalyzed conversion of 4-halo-3-hydroxybutyric acid derivatives. The present invention further provides methods and compositions for preparing 4-halo-3-hydroxybutyric acid derivatives by ketoreductase-catalyzed conversion of 4-halo-3-ketobutyric acid derivatives.
