Abstract:
A process for heating or cooling a liquid (5) by contacting the liquid with an immiscible fluid (1), having different temperature and density, in the presence of a heat transfer enhancing media bed (7) inside a contacting chamber (4). The process including the steps of introducing the liquid into the chamber; contacting the surface film on the media bed with the liquid, whereby the surface film provides for maximum contact and heat exchange between the liquid and fluid; and removing the fluid and the liquid from the chamber.
Abstract:
Row activation operations within a memory component are carried out with respect to subrows instead of complete storage rows to reduce power consumption. Further, instead of activating subrows in response to row commands, subrow activation operations are deferred until receipt of column commands that specify the column operation to be performed and the subrow to be activated.
Abstract:
Purge fluid from a vessel head in an adsorption process is distributed to recovery processes according to the purity of product contained in the fluid. Extract-rich fluid thus is routed directly to recovery of the extract product. Distribution preferably is determined by internal positioning of feed, desorbent and product streams in the adsorption vessel.
Abstract:
Disclosed are methods and compositions for identifying viral-specific polynucleotide sequences in a biological sample, and particularly in samples of veterinary origin. Also disclosed are oligonucleotide primer pairs, as well as labeled oligonucleotide detection probes useful in detecting the presence of one or more particular species, strains, types, or subtypes of one or more mammalian pathogens of viral origin, as well as systems, diagnostic kits and articles of manufacture comprising virus-specific primers and labeled detection probes, including those useful in identifying viral components of a multivalent vaccine, and quantitating the potency of particular attenuated, live viruses that comprise a livestock vaccine. In certain embodiments, real-time, quantitative PCR methods have been utilized to identify and distinguish between the three known genetic subtypes of bovine viral diarrhea virsuses (BVDV-la, BVDV-lb, and BVDV-2) in a multivalent bovid shipping fever vaccine.
Abstract:
An array ( 100 ) of honeycomb substrates ( 10 ) comprises honeycomb substrates ( 10 ), a plurality of which have, for each substrate, substrate cells extending from a first end of the respective substrate to a second end and substrate sides extending from the first end to the second end. The substrates of the plurality are arranged in an array with sides of respective substrates facing one another and cells of respective substrates extending in a common direction. One or more channels ( 12 ) are defined by facing substrate sides of two or more substrates of the plurality ( 100 ) and the one or more channels ( 12 ) extend in a direction perpendicular to the common direction.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a system and method of managing traffic traversing an intermediary based on a result of end point auditing. An authentication virtual server of an intermediary may determine a result of an end point analysis scan of a client. Responsive to the determination, the traffic management virtual server can obtain the result from the authentication virtual server. Further, the traffic management virtual server may apply the result in one or more traffic management policies to manage network traffic of a connection of the client traversing the intermediary. In some embodiments, the authentication virtual server may receive one or more expressions evaluated by the client. The one or more expressions identifies one or more attributes of the client. The traffic management virtual server can also determine a type of compression or encryption for the connection based on applying the one or more traffic management policies using the result.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a segmented modular solid oxide fuel cell device having a plurality of independently controllable electrical power producing segments disposed within a common thermal environment. Also disclosed are methods for selectively operating one or more segments of the disclosed segmented modular solid oxide fuel cell device. Also disclosed are methods for performing a maintenance process on one or more segments of a segmented modular fuel cell device during fuel cell operation.
Abstract:
An imaging system suitable for use in a vehicle includes an imaging sensor having a two-dimensional array of photosensing elements, an image processor for processing image data captured by the imaging sensor, and a display for displaying images responsive to the image processor. The array has a plurality of sub-arrays, with each of the sub-arrays having a first pixel sensing primarily a first color, a second pixel sensing primarily a second color, a third pixel sensing primarily a third color and a fourth pixel sensing primarily infrared radiation. The image processor processes the output of the fourth pixel to determine an infrared component of the imaged scene and subtracts the infrared component from the outputs of the first, second and third pixels to obtain a more accurate or true color response for the pixels and to limit or avoid infrared color wash-out.
Abstract:
A continuous film of desired electrical characteristics is obtained by successively printing and annealing two or more dispersions of prefabricated nanoparticles.
Abstract:
Methods for establishing an SSL/VPN session on behalf of a user of a client (102a) where the user has a previously existing session are described. Methods include receiving, by an appliance (200), a request from a first client (102a) operated by a user to establish a virtual private network session; creating, by the appliance, a temporary virtual private network session with the client; identifying, by the appliance, an existing virtual private network session previously established on behalf of the user; terminating the previous session; and creating a new virtual private network session with the client using the temporary session. Other methods may further include transmitting a request to a user corresponding to whether to terminate one or more previous sessions, and transferring session data from a previously existing session to a current session. Corresponding systems are also described.
