Abstract:
Abstract:
Magnesium low base number (LBN) sulphonates derived from high molecular weight sulphonic acids have low viscosity and are chloride free. The magnesium low base number sulphonates are not skin sensitisers. In their preparation neutralisation of high molecular weight sulphonic acids or partially neutralised soaps of high molecular weight sulphonic acids is completed by the use of a high base number sulphonate in conjunction with a carboxylic acid. The process does not require the use of chloride containing promoters and produces low chloride products.
Abstract:
Abstract:
To improve colour and odour characteristics of sulfonic acids and their derivatives while maintaining sludge and sulfuric acid reduction and good thermal stability, they are treated with at least one unsaturated hydrocarbon, each having at most 36 carbon atoms and having defined substitution characteristics.

Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for producing an N-(1-aryl-alk-1-enyl)-acetamide or N-(1-heteroaryl-alk-1-enyl)-acetamide. According to the invention, an N-(alk-1-enyl)-acetamide is reacted with an aryl- or heteroaryl-chloride, bromide, iodide or triflate in the presence of a) a Pd-catalyst and b) water and/or an ionic liquid, and c) dimethylformamide (DMF), N,N-dimethylacetamide (DMAC) and/or surplus N-(alk-1-enyl)-acetamide.
Abstract:
A process for the production of overbased magnesium sulphonates which makes it possible to prepare high base number products which have very low post-carbonation sediments and which can be purified by rapid filtration.
