Abstract:
A process is provided for making a yarn with improved properties, such as lowered susceptibility to packs and snags. The yarn (2) consists of a spandex core that is tightly covered with a nylon fiber, which tight covering is achieved by heat treatment. A knitted fabric (Figure 1B) is further provided, that is made of yarn consisting of a spandex core and a nylon fiber, which has low susceptibility to picks, as well as to tears during its production and its use.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a polyamide (preferably Nylon 66) yarn for weaving or knitting clothes articles which have a cooling effect on the skin of the wearer. The yarn contains an inorganic additive (preferably Titanium dioxide) in an amount of between 0.3 and 3.0 wt% and is characterized by a low crimp modulus and a flat cross section.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for the preparation of silver-polymer composites, which comprises sonochemical deposition of silver nanoparticles onto the polymer, preferably by ultrasonic irradiation of a polyol solution of a silver salt containing the polymer. The invention further relates to Ag-polymers, preferably Ag-nylon, composites obtained by the method of the invention; to antibacterial Ag-polymers, preferably Ag-nylon, yarns spun therefrom; and to fabrics knitted from said yarns.

Abstract:
The present invention provides a sparkling dyed double covered yarn comprising: (i) a core yarn; (ii) a first sheath yarn made of a bright polyamide yarn wound around the core yarn to form a single covered yarn; and (iii) a second sheath yarn made of a dyed polyamide yarn wound around said single covered yarn to form a double covered yarn; wherein the first sheath yarn and the second sheath yarn are wound in the same direction. The invention further provides processes for manufacturing a sparkling dyed double covered yarn and fabrics comprising the same.
Abstract:
The invention provides a polyamide yarn and fabric for making clothes articles which have deodorizing effect and which enhance warming and drying on the skin of the wearer.
Abstract:
A polymeric matrix having improved flowability and wettability is provided, as well as a process for making it. The matrix contains a polyamide and a polyhydric alcohol which is chemically bonded at least to a part of the polyamide, and it is suitable particularly for manufacturing fiber-reinforced polyamide articles exhibiting a very good surface appearance and excellent mechanical properties.

Abstract:
Process for manufacturing a fabric having distinctive and sharp differentially colored patterns or designs, which process comprises the steps of: (a) producing a first and a second polyamide, said polyamides having different concentrations of amine groups; (b) producing a first and a second polyamides having different concentrations of carboxyl end-groups and sulfonate groups; (c) producing a first yarn from said first polyamide and a second yarn from said second polyamide; (d) making a fabric having first surface areas defined by said first yarn and second surface areas defined by said second yarn; and (e) chemically dyeing said fabric in a dyeing bath comprising at least one anionic (acid) dyestuff and at least one cationic (basic) dyestuff, whereby said first yarn and therefore said first surface areas are dyed predominantly by said anionic dyestuff and said second yarn and therefore said second surface areas are dyed predominantly by said cationic dyestuff.
