Abstract:
A video game system (10) having a safety assembly (14) operatively coupled to an electronic video game processor (20) configured to initiate an execution of an interactive video game (70, 80, 90) stored on a game processor readable medium (20a) and to cause an interruption of the execution of the interactive video game (70, 80, 90) when the safety assembly (14) does not detect a game player in a zone-of-play (44). A method of playing an interactive video game (70, 80, 90) on an electronic video game system including the steps of: executing on a game processor (20) an interactive video game (70, 80, 90) stored on a game processor readable medium (20a); and executing a safety program (64) wherein an execution of the interactive video game (70, 80, 90) is interrupted when a safety assembly (14) does not detect a game player in a zone-of-play (44).

Abstract:
An entertainment device comprising a housing or base unit that supports display surface is disclosed. A display generating device displays visual images on the display surface. The display generating device may be a projection-type display device or a display panel device. A touch/proximity sensing device detects positions of a user appendage on the display surface in the course of a game or activity. In addition, users may interact with the entertainment device with an input controller device that comprises buttons, directional pad devices, etc. A control unit, connected to the touch/proximity sensing device and to the display generating device, is responsive to signals from the at least one input controller and/or position detections from the touch/proximity sensing device to, among other operations, alter the visual image displayed on the display surface.
Abstract:
A computer peripheral toy device is provided that connects to a personal computer and enables a child user to create drawings, animated figures, cards, posters, and other projects and items. The device includes a housing having a drawing tablet and a stylus that connects to the housing for use on the drawing tablet. There a plurality of buttons on the top surface of the housing that a user depresses when engaging in a drawing activity. Computer software is provided for installation on the personal computer in order to display data associated with a drawing activity. When executed by the computer, the computer software causes the computer to respond to the messages received from the controller to engage in a drawing activity using drawing style parameters based on which of the drawing style buttons, color palette buttons and design tool buttons are selected by a user.
