Abstract:
Products and processes that are related to phosphonated polysaccharide compositions, including phosphonated polysaccharide gels, having a substituent degree of substitution with a lower limit of 0.02 and an upper limit of 3, and having a weight average molecular weight with an upper limit of 5,000,000 g/mole, as well as to oil field application or fracturing fluid compositions comprising such phosphonated polysaccharide compositions.
Abstract:
In various embodiments, the invention provides a radiotracer comprising a positron emitting atom bound to a deoxy sugar moiety. The radiotracer is reversible bound to a caging moiety that prevents or retards tissue uptake of the radiotracer while the caging moiety is in place. An exemplary caging moiety is acid labile and is cleaved upon uptake of the radiotracer by tissue with an acidic pH.
Abstract:
An apparatus for irrigating the vas deferens in connection with a vasectomy reversal is described. The apparatus comprises a fluid delivery device having a first portion that connects to the vas deferens, the fluid delivery device connecting such that a catheter tip inserts into the vas deferens and is held in stable position relative thereto and such that fluid enters the vas deferens through the catheter tip.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein is a vitrectomy probe, comprising a beam steering system configured to receive a light beam from a sample fiber of an optical coherence tomography instrument; a fundus illumination system configured to receive a beam of white light from a white light source via a multimode fiber; a dichroic mirror; and a beam delivery system configured to illuminate the retina of a subject.
Abstract:
Compositions and methods are described for a polymer hydrogel created by a cycloaddition reaction between an azide and an alkyne that proceeds rapidly without catalyst to produce the polymer hydrogel in less than ninety seconds. The polymer hydrogel can be used in in vivo applications for the localized delivery of therapeutic agent in aqueous solutions. An example of therapeutic delivery of a protein in a mouse model is demonstrated.
Abstract:
Adaptations, apparatus and methods are disclosed for associating various utility tools with a nut driving tool. The adaptation includes a receiver connectable to one side of the nut driving tool adjacent to a socket driver. A utility tool mounting body includes a base portion releasably engageable with the receiver and a station portion on the base portion releasably engageable with the selected utility tool. The utility tool of this invention includes a head having a mounting interface, the station portion releasably engageable with the mounting interface of the utility tool head. In one embodiment, the utility tool is reaction unit for engaging a nut or a fitting body. In other embodiments, utility tools and/or appliances for tubing locating, alignment and stabilizing, tube cutting, sawing, and/or bending, and/or grasping of adjacent fitting types or fitting sizes are provided.
Abstract:
A system and method for steering a relief well to intersect a previously drilled wellbore. In one embodiment, a system includes a drill string disposed in the relief well and a surface processing system (138). The drill string includes a plurality of sections of wired drill pipe (16) connected end-to-end, and a bottom hole assembly (136) disposed at a downhole end of the drill string. The bottom hole assembly includes a drill bit (114), a steering tool (130) configured to direct the drill bit towards a target, and an acoustic sensing tool (132). The acoustic sensing tool includes a plurality of acoustic sensors (202A, 202B, 202C) configured to detect acoustic signals emanating from fluid (142) flow in a target wellbore. The surface processing system (138) is coupled to the uphole end of the drill string, and is configured to determine a direction to the target wellbore based on the acoustic signals detected by the acoustic sensors.
Abstract:
The present invention generally relates, in some embodiments, to methods of determining a patient's prognosis for recurrence of prostate cancer and/or determining a course of treatment for prostate cancer following a radical prostatectomy.
Abstract:
