Abstract:
A sealant rubber composition which forms a spongy tacky sealant layer having moderate viscosity properties and a pneumatic tire having in the tire main body a tacky sealant layer obtained by heating the rubber composition. The rubber composition comprises: 95 to 50 parts by weight of a polymer decomposable with a peroxide 5 to 50 parts by weight of a polymer crosslinkable with a peroxide and a peroxide, the amount which is 0.2 to 20 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of these polymers.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire which makes it possible to effectively prevents puncture during running without involving a large increase in weight or degradation of riding comfortability. This pneumatic tire has a plurality of films disposed in the manner of fish scales in at least a region corresponding to the tread portion of the inner surface of the tire, some of the films being fixed on the inner surface of the tire, the fixed portions of the films being covered by the non-fixed portions of the other films.
Abstract:
A tubeless tire (1) which has a sealant layer (4) being comprised of a sealant and closely attached on the inside surface of an inner liner layer (3) for retaining the inside of the tire in the air-tight state, characterized in that a cover layer (5) comprising an elastomer having high air permeability is closely attached to the sealant layer (4). The tubeless tire can exhibit satisfactory auto-sealing capability with a reduced amount of a sealant applied.
Abstract:
A self-seal tire has a puncture seal layer extending from one shoulder portion of a pneumatic tire to the other shoulder portion over the entire inner wall surface of the tire. This puncture seal layer is composed of a strip-like seal layer provided with an adhesive layer made of adhesive material on the tire wall surface side surface of a strip-like sponge layer which is impregnated with an adhesive material in such a manner as to be exposed to the tire wall surface side but not to be exposed to the tire opposite wall surface side, the strip-like seal layer being stuck, in a state in which it is wrapped circumferentially of the tire, to the inner wall surface of the tire through an adhesive layer.
Abstract:
A pneumatic tire in which a sealant layer has been formed based on a decomposition reaction of polyisobutylene and which has an excellent puncture-preventing function while avoiding any inconvenience aroused by the sealant layer formation. The pneumatic tire has a sealant layer in that region of the inner surface of the tire which corresponds at least to the tread. The sealant layer is made of a pressure-sensitive adhesive sealant obtained by heating a rubber composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a rubber ingredient comprising at least 50 wt.% polyisobutadiene and 0.2 to 20 parts by weight of a peroxide. A liquid ethylene/alpha-olefin copolymer, liquid polybutadiene, or liquid polyisoprene is added as a pressure-sensitive adhesive for the sealant layer in an amount of 5 to 50 parts by weight.
Abstract:
A self-seal tire having a puncture seal layer applied to the entire inner wall face of the tire from one shoulder part to the other shoulder part of a pneumatic tire. The puncture seal layer comprises an adhesive layer of a material bonding to the inner wall face of the tire provided on the outer circumferential surface of an annular sponge layer impregnated with an adhesive material such that it is exposed to the outer circumferential surface side. The puncture seal layer is pressure bonded to the inner wall face of the tire by the restoring force of the sponge layer applied while being compressed.
Abstract:
A self-seal tire, comprising a puncture seal layer installed through the entire inner wall surface of a pneumatic tire ranging from one shoulder part to the other shoulder part thereof, wherein the puncture seal layer is formed by installing an adhesive layer formed of an adhesive material adhered to the inner wall surface of the tire on the outer peripheral surface of an annular sponge layer soaked with the adhesive material so as to be exposed to the outer peripheral surface side of the tire, and the relation between the outer peripheral length (Ls) of the sponge layer before installation of the puncture seal layer thereon and the tire outer peripheral length (Lt) of the pneumatic tire at a centerline is set to 1.1 Lt
