Polyethylene composition with improved balance of environmental stress cracking resistance (FNCT) and impact resistance (Charpy), particularly suited for preparing pipes, said composition having the following features: 1) density from 0.945 to 0.955 g/cm 3 ; 2) ratio MIF/MIP from more than 30 to 45; 3) Shear-Induced Crystallization Index SIC from 1.0 to 2.5; 4) Long Chain Branching index equal to or greater than 0.85.

Molding compositions made from a high-molecular-weight propylene polymer with a melt massflow rate MFR of from 0.3 to 1 g/10 min, to ISO 1133 at 230°C and 5 kg, and with a proportion of ß modification crystallites in the range from 2 to 20% by weight. The molding compositions of the invention preferably comprise a quinacridone pigment as nucleating agent. The high-molecular-weight propylene polymer used preferably comprises a high-molecular-weight propylene copolymer with up to 30% by weight of other copolymerized olefins having up to 10 carbon atoms. One of the uses of the molding compositions of the invention is as materials for pipes.

A multimodal ethylene copolymer having the following properties: i) density comprised in the range from 0.880 to 0.955 g/cm3; ii) total comonomer content ranging from 6% to 25% by weight; iii) content of 1-butene derived units ranging from 0 to 2% by weight; iv) Mw/Mn comprised from 4 to 20; v) intrinsic viscosity (decalin at 135°C as determined according to EN ISO 1628-312003) comprised between 1.0 and 4.0 dL/g; said multimodal ethylene copolymer comprises from 10% to 80% by weight of a first polyethylene component and being detected at the crystaf® apparatus at a temperature higher than 75°C and from 90% to 20% by weight of a second polyethylene component being a copolymer being detected at a crystaf® apparatus at a temperature lower than 75°C; wherein said multimodal ethylene copolymer being fractionated into 12 fractions by means of the Holtrup analysis, the fractions containing more than 2% by weight of the total amount of material meet the following relathionship: Cf/HDPE > -0.0075HDPE + 0.58; wherein Cf is the amount (%wt) of comonomer of formula CH 2 =CHT in the copolymer of the fraction and HDPE is the amount (%wt) of the homopolymer component present in the fraction.

A process for preparing an ethylene polymer in a suspension polymerization comprising separating the formed suspension of ethylene polymer particles in a solid-liquid separator into ethylene polymer particles and mother liquor, transferring a part of the mother liquor into a work-up section comprising an evaporation unit for producing a wax-depleted portion of the mother liquor, wherein a protic agent is added to the part of the mother liquor which is transferred into the work-up section, and recycling at least a part of the wax-depleted portion of the mother liquor to the polymerization reactor or the series of polymerization reactors.

An ethylene copolymer, a catalyst system suitable to prepare the ethylene copolymer, and a process to prepare such ethylene copolymer are described. The use of the ethylene copolymer as impact modifier in polyethylene and as compatibilizer in a polymer blend are also described. The ethylene copolymer has a density from 0.855 g/cm 3 to 0.910 g/cm 3 , a polydispersity M w /M n lower than 3.5, comprises at least one first ethylene polymer component and at least one second ethylene polymer component having different comonomer contents so as to show at least two predetermined CRYSTAF peak temperatures.
