The generated grooves (17, 18, 19) then slightly overlap (25) which considerably reduces the sliding friction and the disturbing noises.

The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock equipped with a locking mechanism (1, 2, 15), an actuation lever unit (3, 4) acting on the locking mechanism (1, 2, 15), and a catch lever (10). The catch lever (10) renders the actuation lever unit (3, 4) ineffective, at least when acceleration forces of a given magnitude occur, e.g. in case of an accident (crash). According to the invention, the catch lever (10) blocks the actuation lever unit (3, 4) during non-deflected normal operation and in the event of a crash while releasing the actuation lever unit (3, 4) only for deflected normal operation.

The invention relates to a motor vehicle door lock equipped with a locking mechanism (1, 2, 3), an actuation lever unit (6, 7) acting on the locking mechanism (1, 2, 3), and a catch lever (12). The catch lever (12) blocks the locking mechanism (1, 2, 3) at least when acceleration forces of a given magnitude occur, e.g. in case of an accident (crash), rendering the locking mechanism ineffective. According to the invention, the catch lever (12) acts upon a pawl (3) of the locking mechanism (1, 2, 3) in the direction of the blocking position of the pawl during normal operation and in the event of a crash while allowing the pawl (3) and thus the locking mechanism (1, 2, 3) to be in the releasing position only during normal opening operation.

The motor vehicle door is equipped with a driven (4, 5; 4) door leaf (1), a magnetic arrangement (4) as component of the drive (4, 5; 4) and at least one sensor (6) assigned to the door leaf (1). According to the invention, on the basis of a speed and/or position of the door leaf (1) with respect to a motor vehicle body (2) detected by means of the sensor (6), the magnetic arrangement (4) is supplied with power by a control unit (7) for either braking or holding, or pulling closed or opening the door leaf (1).

According to the invention, the motor-driven opening unit (7 to 9) ensures the free movement of the lever gear (4, 5) in relation to the locking mechanism (1, 2) in the normal mode, and the engagement of the lever gear with the locking mechanism (1, 2) in the opening mode.

The coupling device comprises a coupling lever, which by virtue of a plurality of engagement lugs is able to pivot a coupling lever. The engagement lugs can be detected in succession by the coupling lever and are arranged in this respect one behind the other. The invention further relates to a plastics component for the locking device.
