Abstract:
Anhydrous oral care compositions and methods for preventing phase separation in the anhydrous oral care composition are disclosed. The oral care composition may include an orally acceptable vehicle, a thickening system, and a whitening agent. The orally acceptable vehicle may include propylene glycol, and the thickening system may include a polymeric thickener. The polymeric thickener may be or include a copolymer of 2- acrylamidomethylpropanesulphonic acid or a salt thereof.
Abstract:
A method is provided which provides shine to hair. The method comprises applying a leave-on composition comprising an oil-in water polysiloxane emulsion having a viscosity of less than 7 Pa*s and a pH value from 4 to 8 to the hair. The emulsion comprises about 0.1% to about 10 % by weight of a non-volatile polysiloxane fluid and from 0.003% to 0.6% by weight of the emulsion of a rheology modifier, wherein less than about 0.015g of the non-volatile polysiloxane fluid are applied per gram of hair. The emulsion is applied by spraying with a particle size of the emulsion in the range of from 0.01µm to 10µm and the resulting film thickness of the non-volatile polysiloxane fluid at the hair after drying is in the range of from 100nm to 500nm, wherein more than 25% of the hair fibers are covered by the composition.
Abstract:
Microcapsules encapsulating a reflective agent are provided herein. The microcapsules are comprised of an inner core, which comprises the reflective agent and optionally an oily substance, and an outer shell formed of wall-forming polymeric materials. The microcapsules may further comprise an opaque substance and/or a fatty acyl salt in the outer shell. Processes of preparing the microcapsules are also provided.
Abstract:
Cosmetic compositions comprising a talc particulate which is used in the cosmetic composition as a colour booster, coverage enhancer, opacity enhancer, cohesion enhancer and/or crack prevention additive.
Abstract:
Method and kit for providing visual effects on fibres, for example human keratin fibres. In the method, fibres are provided coated with a composition. The composition comprises monomer(s) and optionally a cosmetically acceptable carrier. The monomer(s) are capable of forming a polymer after exposure to electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength of from 300 nm to 750 nm. The monomer(s) are selected from the group consisting of acrylates monomers, methacrylate monomers, acrylamide monomers, methacrylamide monomers, styrene monomers, vinyl pyrolidinone monomers, vinylpyrrolidone monomers, and mixtures thereof. The monomer(s) have a molecular weight in the range from 100 g/mol to 5000 g/mol. The monomer(s) have a functionality of between 1 and 100. The composition has a kinematic viscosity of from 0.5 cSt to 1500 cSt, measured at 23°C. In the method, a forming means is applied onto the fibres. The forming means orders the composition into a pattern and is permeable to UV radiation. In the method, the forming means is irradiated with electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength of from 300 nm to 750 nm and the the forming means is removed from the fibres.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a composition containing: an emollient system containing esters chosen from dicaprylyl ether, isopropyl myristate, caprylic/capric triglyceride, and sorbitan trioleate; sunscreen actives; an oil-soluble film-former; and optionally, an aesthetic modifier, wherein the composition is clear in appearance both during and after its application onto a keratinous substrate, and alcohol-free.
Abstract:
This document provides methods and materials for delivering compounds to teeth and methods and materials for providing teeth with a whiter appearance. For example, methods and materials are provided for contacting teeth with one or more adhesive molecules (e.g., mussel adhesive polypeptides or polymer containing a plurality of 3,4-dihydroxyphenyl-L-alanine residues) in combination with one or more fluorescence emitting polypeptides (e.g., a blue fluorescent protein (BFP)) and/or whitening particles to provide the teeth with a whiter appearance.
Abstract:
The invention concerns the use of compounds with formula (I) R-N1-spermidine, or 1,4-butandiamin,N-(3-amino propyl)- N1-R, (I) H 2 N - (CH 2 ) 3 - N 1 (R) - (CH 2 ) 4 - NH 2 either as such or in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative, such as an active ingredient in a cosmetic composition designed to promote hair pigmentation, particularly the pigmentation of the shaft, and a composition suitable to achieve said pigmentation effect and containing said active ingredient, either as such or in the form of a pharmaceutically acceptable derivative such as a salt, for topical administration.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a solid cosmetic composition comprising (i) sugar; (ii) a vegetable fibre, a fruit fibre or mixture thereof; and (iii) a soap; wherein the solid cosmetic composition is prepared by dehydrating a liquid composition comprising (i) sugar in an amount of 33.75 to 47 wt.%; (ii) a vegetable fibre, a fruit fibre or mixture thereof, in an amount of 3.75 to 4.75 wt.%; (iii) a soap in an amount of 20 to 75 wt.%; and (iv) water in an amount of 11 to 15 wt.%, wherein the amounts are based on the total combined amount of the sugar, the fibre, the soap and the water.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a composition for topical application comprising in a physiologically acceptable medium at least a benzotriazol derivative, a microfine metal oxide particle, a cosmetic solvent selected from the group of benzoate solvents such as phenethyl benzoate and a phosphate ester emulsifier.
