Abstract:
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and devices are provided for generating a mist. In one embodiment, a fluid delivery device (1) is provided that includes a housing (10), a fluid vaporizer (30) disposed within the housing and configured to receive fluid and to produce an aerosol mist of liquid particles from the fluid, and a pump (40) configured to accelerate the aerosol mist produced by the fluid vaporizer. Methods are provided for producing a mist, and the methods can include delivering a fluid to a fluid vaporizer that generates a first mist. The fluid vaporizer delivers the mist to a pump that generates a second mist from the first mist.
Abstract:
A device (10) for atomising a liquid comprising a housing (12) having a reservoir (16) of liquid connected to an atomising nozzle (14) and an outlet (18). A compressor (20) connectable to a gas source (22), and fluidly connected to the housing by a first channel (28), is also located within the housing along with a power source (24) for the compressor and an oxygen concentrator (26) comprising a second channel (31A, 31B). The device supplies pressurised gas from the compressor through the first channel into the housing and onto the atomising nozzle to atomise the liquid in the reservoir to dispense it from the outlet as an aerosol plume. The device arranged so that the oxygen concentrator supplies an oxygen containing gas through the second channel to boost the oxygen content in the aerosol plume.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a device for delivering a predetermined volume of a substance, within at least one body cavity of a subject, comprising: a. a predefined volume for containing said predetermined volume of said at least one substance; b. a delivery end for placement in proximity to said body cavity; said delivery end comprises at least one orifice of diameter D [mm]; c. a valve mechanically connectable to said container, characterized by at least two configurations: ( i ) an ACTIVE CONFIGURATION in which said valve enables delivery of predetermined volume V sub [ml] of said substance; and, ( ii ) an INACTIVE CONFIGURATION, in which said valve prevents delivery of said predetermined volume V sub [ml] of said substance from said container to said body cavity; d. a fluid tight chamber configured to contain predetermined volume V gas [ml] of pressurized gas at a predetermined pressure, P gas [barg].
Abstract:
A device for generating a condensation aerosol includes (a) vaporization chamber having an upstream first inlet and a downstream outlet; (b) a heater element in the vaporization chamber between the upstream first inlet and the downstream outlet; (c) an airflow path in fluid communication with the vaporization chamber, wherein the airflow path comprises a second inlet configured to permit a substantially laminar flow of air into the airflow path, wherein the second inlet is downstream of the heater element; and (d) the device having components or apparatus on or in the device for changing air flow in the vaporization chamber. Changing the air flow in the vaporization chamber may be used to change the particle size of a condensation aerosol produced in the vaporization chamber, and/or to change the amount of visible vapor emitted from the device.
Abstract:
Methods and compositions are disclosed for the treatment of taste and smell disorders. The compositions comprise phosphodiesterase inhibitors and are formulated for intranasal administration.
Abstract:
A nasal nebulizer contains a main canister with at least one air exit port and an insert with at least one fluid channel. The fluid channel ends in a common bell housing above a base of the insert, which rests within the canister. The insert and the canister may form one integral unit for single usage, where a cap plugs the air exit port and the fluid channel, allowing for the transport or long-term storage of fluids within the nebulizer device. The insert may include an extension extending out to the canister and a vertical groove may extend down the fluid channel to a hole in the extension, which upon use helps create a vacuum that pulls in deflected fluid for re-use. The nebulizer may also contain a filter surrounding the tube portion near the top of the canister to catch any extraneous matter expelled from the nose during usage.
Abstract:
An electronic smoking article includes a liquid supply including liquid material, a heater operable to heat the liquid material to a temperature sufficient to vaporize the liquid material and form an aerosol, a wick in communication with the liquid material and in communication with the heater such that the wick delivers the liquid material to the heater, at least one air inlet operable to deliver air to a central air passage upstream of the heater, and an aroma carrier on an outer surface of the outer tube. The aroma carrier includes fragrance material and is operable to deliver fragrance during smoking.
