Abstract:
Abstract:
Methods, devices and systems for improving sleep (including reducing sleep onset and maintenance of sleep duration), enhancing, or increasing sleep, including (but not limited to) treating sleeping disorders such as insomnia.
Abstract:
Abstract:
Dialysis monitors capable of storing and using thermal energy and methods related thereto are disclosed. Dialysis monitors capable of storing and using disinfection and/or cleaning fluids which was used at an earlier disinfection and/or cleaning event and methods related thereto are also disclosed. Thermally stored energy may, for example, be used for quick thermal disinfection of the fluid path, quick start-up of the preparation of treatment fluid, and as back-up power for continuous preparation of treatment fluid should externally provided power be interrupted.
Abstract:
Rapid mechanical admixing of blood products at a storage temperature of 4°C with a saline solution in a temperature range of 50-70°C results in a mixture temperature sufficient to prevent hypothermia upon transfusion, which temperature rise per volume of the blood products is at a rate commensurate with the flow rate of transfusion equipment while not exceeding the temperature tolerance of the erythrocytes.
Abstract:
Method, systems and devices for treating insomnia by non-invasive hypothermic treatment are described. In general, these devices, systems and method enable cooling of the frontal cortex prior to and /or during sleep to enhance sleep, which may be particularly beneficial to treat insomnia.
Abstract:
Apparatus for gastro-intestinal rinsing and cleaning of human beins and animals, comprising a water container (18) having cold and hot water connections (11, 12, 15) for the supply of temperated water to the container, and a nozzle (41) which is connected by transparent hoses (39, 40) with valve controlled conduits (20, 35) for the supply of water to the nozzle from the water container by gravity, and with a drain (25) for discharging flowing material from the nozzle to the drain. Detachable connection of the transparent hoses is provided by means of hose connections (22, 38) available externally of a housing otherwise enclosing the apparatus. The cold water connection (11) is connected via a cut-off valve (29) with the conduit (20) from the water container (18) to the nozzle (41) and via cut-off valve (33) and an adjustable choke member (31) with an injector (34) connected to the drain conduit (35) of the nozzle.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed to a device and a method, particularly suitable for temperature adjustment of a patient and/or suitable for fever treatment and/or normothermia and/or hypothermia. The device comprises: - at least one connection (11) to at least one reservoir (10) suitable to provide infusion fluid; - at least one assembly controller (20) for controlling the temperature and/or flow rate of the infusion fluid; - at least one temperature controller (30) adapted for cooling and/or heating the temperature of the infusion fluid so that the infusion fluid is delivered with a pre-set temperature; and/or - at least one flow controller (40) for controlling the flow of the infusion fluid; and - at least two outgoing ducts (14, 15); - wherein the flow controller (40) is adapted to feed the outgoing ducts (14, 15) with different flow rates.

Abstract:
Devices and methods for injecting or otherwise delivering multiple-component therapies to human or animal subjects. Devices having injectors (e.g., syringes (16, 18)) attached to biaxial or coaxial injection cannula(s) (14) are used to deliver multiple components of a particular therapy such that those components become combined shortly before or upon exiting the injection cannula (s). In some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include a first set of finger grips (24a) at a first location and a second set of finger grips (24b) at a second location. Also, in some embodiments, the injector devices of the present invention may include depth stops (15) for controlling the depth within tissue at which the therapeutic substance is delivered. Also, in some embodiments, the injector devices of the' present invention may include refill manifolds (42a, 42b) with attached syringes or other reservoirs containing the component substances to facilitate refilling of the inj ectors.
