Abstract: The invention relates to a filter device, in particular for filtering melt-type fluids, such as polymer melts, comprising at least one filter disk (10) having two filter disk halves (12, 14) connected to each other by their edges and outwardly fitted with a filter tissue (18). The filter disk halves (12, 14), held apart by a supporting device (46), delimit a substantially free hollow area (16) between them, through which a fluid can flow freely. Inwardly, they delimit an outflow opening (44) for the melt-type filtered fluid. The invention is characterized in that the supporting device (46) has individual supporting cams (32) of substantially equal outer dimensions and arranged in several groups (34, 36, 38, 40, 42). Separated from each other, said supporting cams (32) extend radially outwards from the outflow opening (44), are rigidly connected to at least one of the two halves (12, 14), and traverse the hollow area (16) in such a way as to rest against the respective other filter disk half (14, 12). This results in a filter device which is economical to produce and which has enhanced filter performance when in operation. It is suited particularly to filtering melt-type fluids, such as polymer melts, under high pressure.

Abstract: A polymer filtering apparatus includes a polymer pipe (12, 112) having a multiplicity of through-holes formed in its peripheral surface, and leaf filters (13, 113) and support members (14, 14a, 114, 114a) which are detachably and alternately laminated one upon another around the polymer pipe. Each leaf filter has a pair of filter members (21, 121) made of a filter medium which cannot bear filtering pressure. On the other hand, each support member has polymer-permeable support plates (25, 25a, 125, 125a) which respectively contact the filter members of the adjacent leaf filters from the outside thereof such as to support the filter members against filtering pressure. Thus, a polymer is filtered by passing from the inside to the outside of each leaf filter through the filter members and the support members. The leaf filters and the support members can be removed from the polymer pipe and, therefore, it is possible to wash them independently of each other.
