Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft eine Tandemrichtmaschine (1) mit zumindest zwei Richtaggregaten, einem ersten Richtaggregat (5) und einem zweiten Richtaggregat (7), welche auf einem Masch inenbett (13) angeordnet sind, wobei jedes Richtaggregat (5, 7) einen oberen Richtwalzenstuhl (17) und einen unteren Richtwalzenstuhl (21) aufweist, wobei das erste Richtaggregat (5) eine Mehrzahl von oberen Richtwalzen (9) und unteren Richtwalzen (11) und das zweite Richtaggregat (7) eine Mehrzahl von oberen Richtwalzen (10) und untere Richtwalzen (12) aufweist, einer Bandseitenführung (23) für ein bandförmiges Richtgut (25), das von einem Coil abwickelbar ist oder für ein Teilerichtgut, das im Wesentlichen flächig ausgebildet ist, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass oberhalb und unterhalb des bandförmigen Richtguts (25) gegenüberliegende Treiberrollen, mindestens eine obere Treiberrolle (27) und mindestens eine untere Treiberrolle (29) angeordnet sind, die zur Ausbringung des bandförmigen Richtguts (25) aus dem Richtaggregat (5, 7) dienen, dass eine Messeinrichtung (33, 34) zur Erfassung des Maßes des Vorschubs des geförderten Richtguts (25) vorgesehen ist, und dass eine Steuer- oder Regeleinrichtung (31 ) vorgesehen ist, die dazu dient, die Vorschubposition in Abhängigkeit von der nachfolgenden Bearbeitungsvorrichtung und eine Taktlüftung der beiden Richtaggregate (5, 7) zu steuern.

The invention allows continuous profile-edge strip (9) (or strip with other repetitive features) to be fed with sufficient accuracy for use in progression tooling (54) by providing fine adjustment of the strip wavelength to correspond with the tooling pitch. The adjustment may be by applying heat to the strip (9) by infrared lamps (57) or other means. Other forms of adjustment are described. Also disclosed are arrangements for feeding strip to progressive tooling in forward and sideways directions.

A feed system for a punch press (10) includes a first clamping and advancing mechanism (56) for gripping feed stock and moving it toward the press (10), and a second clamping and advancing mechanism (58) for gripping the stock and conveying the stock away from the press (10). A controller (80) causes the first clamping and advancing mechanism (56) to be operated until a predetermined number of punching operations have been performed upon the stock while the second clamping and advancing mechanism (58) remains inoperative. After the predetermined number has been attained, the second clamping and advancing mechanism (58) is activated and punch operations continue until a second predetermined count has been attained. Thereafter, the stock is conveyed away from the press (10). The invention permits stock to be conveyed through the press very rapidly, and it prevents damage to the press by accurately determining the position of the stock relative to the press.

Verfahren zur Erzeugung sich überlagernder Strukturen in einen Metallfolienabschnitt (1) mit zumindest folgenden Schritten: a) Erzeugen einer Primärstruktur (2) mit einem ersten Werkzeug (3); b) Weiterleiten des Metallfolienabschnittes (1) hin zu einem zweiten Werkzeug (4), wobei das zweite Werkzeug (4) mindesten eine formgebende Profilwalze (5) aufweist, die das Weiterleiten des Metallfolienabschnittes (1) bewirkt; c) Erzeugen einer Sekundärstruktur (6) mit dem zweiten Werkzeug (4); d) Bestimmen einer räumlichen Lage von Primärstruktur (2) und Sekundärstruktur (6) in zumindest einem Teilbereich (7) des Metallfolienabschnittes (1); e) Erkennen einer Misslage und Anpassen eines Betriebsparameters der mindestens einen Profilwalze (5). Weiter werden hierfür geeignete Vorrichtung sowie hiermit herstellbare Metallfolien vorgeschlagen, die zur Herstellung für Katalysator-Trägerkörper geeignet sind, welche in Abgassystemen von Verbrennungskraftmaschinen eingesetzt werden können.

An apparatus for cutting and nibbling a sheet metal (3) in coil form comprises pulling devices for pulling the sheet metal, which is delivered from a delivery bobbin or coil, and are driven by a pair of overlapping rollers (12), the sheet metal being adapted to intermittently advance, stop and move backward, the sheet metal being processed by machining heads (15,16), which are arranged at the top and bottom portions of the sheet metal and are designed for transversely move with respect to the sheet metal feeding direction.

An inspection method (2) is provided for inspecting a sheet in a press (1), wherein the press (1) comprises a punching unit (4) which is suitable for receiving a sheet (2) provided with a plurality of printed portions (3) arranged in a regular manner according to a printing pattern and for cutting the sheet in dwell steps thereof, separating into several steps a plurality of printed discs. The method comprises: - providing abutting means (22, 23, 24) arranged upstream of the punching unit (4) to receive the sheet (2) to be cut and adjust the position of the sheet (2), - advancing in a first direction (Dl) the thus adjusted sheet (2) to the punching unit (4) to obtain the plurality of printed discs; - processing at least one acquired image of the sheet (2) to detect an arrangement of the printing pattern in the sheet (2); - comparing the detected arrangement of the printing pattern with a nominal arrangement of the printing pattern to obtain a shift of the printing pattern in the sheet (2) with respect to said nominal arrangement; - acquiring at least one image of the sheet (2) upstream of the abutting means (22, 23, 24) during advancement of the sheet (2) in a second direction (D2). To detect said arrangement of the printing pattern the method further comprises: - identifying a top edge (2a), a bottom edge (2b) and a side working edge (2c) of the sheet (2) and further identifying a top graphic mark (20), which is arranged in a top corner (18) defined between the top edge (2a) and the side working edge (2c), and a bottom graphic mark (21) which is arranged in a bottom corner (19) between the side working edge (2c) and the bottom edge (2b); - calculating a longitudinal shift and a top side shift of the top graphic mark (20) and a bottom side shift of the bottom graphic mark (21); and wherein said adjusting the position of the sheet (2) in said abutting means (22, 23, 24) comprises translating and/or rotating said sheet (2) as a function of said longitudinal shift, and/or said top side shift and/or said bottom side shift to position said printing pattern in said nominal position so as to obtain in said punching unit (4) printed discs in which each printed portion (3) is arranged in a desired position.
