The collet is intended for feeding rod-like material in automatic single-spindle and multi-spindle lathes. The collet comprises a sleeve (1) in which is coaxially mounted an elastic element (6) for gripping the rod-like material (4), consisting of a bushing with sections shaped as lobes (10) which are spread along the axis of the sleeve (1) at least in two rows and whose width increases from one end to the other, and a limiter (7) of the movement of the elastic element (6) along the axis (O-O) of the sleeve (1), consisting of protrusions which are provided on the internal surface of the front part of the sleeve (1), are directed towards the axis of the sleeve (1) and are located between the lobes (10).

Materialstangenzuführvorrichtung (10) zum Zuführen von Materialstangen zu einer Werkzeugmaschine, mit Führungselementen (92 - 102) zum Führen von Materialstangen, wobei die Führungselemente zum Führen von Materialstangen mit unterschiedlichen Durchmessern quer zu einer Längsachse (29) verschiebbar sind. Es wird vorgeschlagen, dass jedes Führungselement als ein axialer Längsabschnitt eines einen Führungskanal vollständig umschließenden Führungsrohrs ausgebildet ist, und dass die Führungselemente (92 bis 102) zur Verringerung des wirksamen Querschnitts des Führungskanals alternierend quer zur Längsachse (29) verschiebbar sind.

According to the present invention, the bar feeder for feeding longitudinal bars to and/or from a processing machine comprises a moveable pusher (3), which is connectable to a bar (1), and a drive unit (5) for moving the pusher (3) subject to a predetermined required movement of the pusher. The pusher (3) is coupled with the drive unit (5) by a float mount (6), which comprises at least one attenuator (7) for dampening a relative movement between the pusher (39 and the drive unit (5).

A compact, multiple spindle computer-controlled machine tool is disclosed. The machine may have a spindle base with two spindles disposed vertically relative to one another along an axis, the spindles having parallel axes of rotation. The spindle base may be computer controlled and have z and x axis motion relative to a tool post. The tool post may have a tool turret and may provide computer-controlled y axis motion so that the tool turret may be utilized with both spindles. The tool post may also have a machining unit that may be used to machine workpieces held by either spindle.

The guide device (10) is arranged between the feed tube (13) of the lathe and the guide tube (11) for the rod-shaped workpieces, which is flush with the feed tube. The guide device (10) has an intermediate tube (12) which extends from the rear end of the feed tube (13) at least as far as the guide tube (11). Between the feed tube (13) and the intermediate tube (12) is a coupling device (14) by which the intermediate tube (12) is mounted in a rotatable but axially fixed manner on the feed tube (13). The coupling device (14) is sealed from the outside. An axially fixed seal (42) is arranged between the guide tube (11) and the intermediate tube (12).

An apparatus for feeding bars (2) to a machine tool comprises an end (3) suitable for being placed in a position adjacent to a working zone(4) in which spindle means (5) of the machine tool are provided; a drum element (6), close to the end (3) and rotatable around a rotation axis (X); movable supporting means (7) provided on the drum element (6) for supporting and guiding a bar (2) parallel to the rotation axis (X). The movable supporting means (7) are slidably drivable on the drum element (6) parallel to the rotation axis (X) between a disengagement retracted configuration (R), in which the movable supporting means (7) are gathered nearer the working zone (4) to enable a respective bar (2) to be loaded, and an engagement extended configuration (E), in which the movable supporting means (7) are spaced away from the working zone (4) and are distributed along a supporting zone (S), opposite the working zone (4) with respect to the drum element (6), to engage the respective bar (2) to be supported and guided during machining. The movable supporting means (7) comprise telescopic tubular means (8) configured for being received, in said disengagement retracted configuration (R), inside tubular housing and guiding means (9) suitable for coupling with the spindle means (5). The telescopic tubular means (8) define, in the engagement extended configuration (E), a cylindrical containing structure configured for enclosing and supporting in a distributed manner a respective bar (2) along the entire supporting zone (S), so as to prevent the bar (2) from flexing because of the centrifugal actions generated by the rotation.
